From my laboratory testing, it only really shows imporovement when used with my hypo-inductive magnets that align the fuel molecules for more orderly combustion.
If you want a feel better about yourself, send me money. Everthing's going to be just fine. ![]() |

Nooooo...just googled it though:
http://www.fitchfuelcatalyst.com/products/sports/index.html http://www.jpcycles.com/productgroup.aspx?GID=D6DB4E79-7697-4C8B-BBF6-A3C9F0E8BB9F&search=fitch&store=All&page=1 Ohhhhkay, that's pretty weird. $50, drop these..."rocks in a plastic cage" in the tank, they sit there forever and "good thinks happen". Based largely on their own page, man, if this is a scam it's a hell of a lot more advanced than the average Nigerian BS ![]() And...there really do seem to be independent reviews: http://www.can4x4.com/articles/fitch.html http://www.roadandrider.com/fitchfuel.htm LONG discussion: http://theoildrop.server101.com/cgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=5;t=000859;p=1 Some of these posts could be by Fitch of course: http://www.goldwingcustomizing.com/detail.cfm?model_ID=72&Category_ID=15&manufacturer_ID=222&product_ID=6417 OK. IF there really is bacterial breakdown of gasoline, and I'd have to assume that's possible (SOMETHING breaks gas down, that's for damnsure) then "poisoning" the bacteria might indeed help. Small amounts of tin cut with platinum could (maybe?) do it. There's a long article on the history of tin-based catalysts here on the page of a competing but similar (?) product: http://fuelcat.co.uk/history.html Weird. Damned if I know if it's a scam or not. |

You know....I'm not a chemist, and had my doubts about this product. But one thing I can say...It changes the smell of the exhaust. I have a (Free) set in my 81 Shovelhead Harley. So long as I fill the tank and let it sit for a few days, they do seem to make a difference. Less pinging and cleaner burn. I know most of you are skeptical (So was I) But I think I'm going to pop a set in my Beemer as well. Like I said, not much difference if you fill your tank and ride right away.
I wish someone could clarify what this really does. The real claim to fame seems to be in 2 stroke engines...does it do something to the oil? Who knows! Tomas

Huh.
Maybe the solution is...OK, this is weird, but...set up *another* fuel tank...say, in the back of your pickup, where you keep a 6gal or so tank. Something like a marine outboard motor tank: ![]() Or...you score two. You put these doohickeys in each. And one in the bike ![]() ![]() Yeah, right ![]() Still, it would kinda make sense that this thing wouldn't have an immediate effect on the gas. One story seems to be that the Rooskies that came up with this during their spat with Hitler didn't mess with the aircraft fuel systems at all. They treated the tanks in the base supply system to run British aircraft engines that needed 100 octane on Commiecrap 87. |

Gee, tin in the gas. Uh, tin alloys real well with lead, like in solder. Lead was added to reduce pinging. It also acted like a lubricant for metal parts against other metal parts if I remember correctly. I would assume that tin would have a similar effect. Tin is more expensive than lead because it is harder to get (mostly comes from SE Asia). Don't think tin would do much to bacteria by itself. Have to be mixed as a salt, like stannis fluoride (as in your dental treatment).
Besides, bacteria in gas? Give me a break. Gas oxidizes on it's own, no need for bacteria.

i think tin is what they add to our "lead replacement" fuel in place of lead. or nasty chemical alloys thereof, to mimic the lead that's missing. it's basically the older premium unleaded with tin(?) stuff that screws up oxygen sensor and cats.
as i understand it anyway.

the quote:
'that amazing Tornado thingamajig' ya mean a swarup? Or howzabout the swarup replacement 'vortex' thingie you put in the cold-air snorkle of your tuner car to 'incease the swirl of the incoming charge to TURBO your intake' (although I got a fuel-line magnet once as a gag gift and it's still on the fuel line of my Dodge Ram; it looks great next to the mount for the supercharger.....the real one, not the 'intake turbo' thingie...
