Insurance & Speeding

I notice that the USA riders fear speeding fines because it will increase their insurance costs. This can also be the case in NSW Australia. When I went to the Government body that collects the data in NSW I asked for the relation stats. for speed vs. Increased accidents, guess what the stats aren't there. My question is! is this just an excuse by insurance companies to rip us off some more ? Is there a link with riders with high speed tickets to crash a lot ? Has anyone state side asked their insurer to produce the stats ? I think this issue should be looked at by our respective rider associations , if in Australia the stats aren't there then maybe this is the case else were ! I have had lots of speed tickets but no insurance claims.

Its not just speeding here. Its also your credit report, home ownership versus rent, etc.

Statistically, when looking at the population as a whole, there probably is a correlation.

But they just want your money. Ridiculous executive salaries, huge payouts, reserves depleted because they were invested in higher risk stocks that tanked... So you must pay.

IMO, Insureance company's see you as a "Higher Risk". Someone who doesn't follow the rules/laws. So they figure your not a "safe" driver. In addition, they probably feel that it's only a matter of time before you are in or create an accident were they will have to pay out of their pockets.

Peak, it's been a while since I've seen 'jafo'.....I used to be called that and wore as a badge of honor (I worked at a honda shop and raced a kawasaki...they'd call me 'jafo' and I'd say 'yeah, I'm just a frikkin observer, but I'm observin' your garbage honda interceptor as I lap it!!)..
I feel bad for our aussie cousins.....we think we have it bad with 'big brother' gummint here, try aussie-land....no firearms ownership, no bill of rights, no due process...BS traffic cameras everywhere...and crime rates skyrocketing thru the roof.....no thanks! methinks the average aussie subject needs to take back the gummint..oops, a political rant; disregard previous transmission,batman....sorreee!
