BMW Roundel New Metzlers

Greetings,

The UPS man just brought some evaluation tires from Metzler.

For 2005 there will be:

The RoadTec>very much a Diablo

The SporTec>looks unchanged> have to read the press materials to see if there are any changes

The RaceTec>It replaces the Rennsports.

Now I have to looks these knowing that we will have 55 degree weather later this week....HMMMM..

having used the sportecs and loving them...the roadtecs and getting used to them but slightly vague front end feel but cofidence and good grip in the cold and wet...well i have had my share of the front end losing grip for several reasons, further enhanced by the vague feel...no need for the racetecs on the S...i think the diablos might get a go on the S with diablos corsas on the R6 for the track. surprised to hear the roadtec compared to a regualr diablo though...thought the diablo and sportecs were the same basic compound use, etc.

BCup,

Just out of curiousity, to your knowledge, does Metzler offer white letter tires? Might be kinda neat to have the Metzler name in white and the rest black. Just a thought

I have used both the Sportec's and the standard Diablos.

The Diablo's went about 6500 miles, and the Sportec's about 3500.

The Pirelli's also never lost that great new tire feel. I wore them down to the carcass in the rear, almost had the threads showing, and they still felt great even on that last run up the Crest.

Of course, YMMV.
