OT: Nice dealer story for my new bike
As most of you know, I'm trading in my R11S in favor of the last year K12RS, due to 90% of my riding being freeway commute. Yes, I thought of a K12S, but I don't want to beta test for BMW. Plus, I wouldn't buy a 'Busa or ZX-12R either... they just aren't my sort of machine. Mabye the rumored K12GT will interest me... but I digress.
So I decide to go for it on the 17th, and request a red one. They do a dealer search, don't find one, so a crated one is ordered from the warehouse with an ETA of the 24th or 25th. The 24th comes by... no bike. The sales person calls BMW and learns the rep she went through was optomistic on the delivery. My dealer won't see the bike until the 29th or 30th. ![]() Needless to say, I'm dissapointed. My R11S is stripped of goodies and ready to trade in. So I resign myself to waiting another 5 days. I get a call the evening of the 24th from the sales person. The owners feel bad about the bike being late, and would I be interested in borrowing the demo bike until mine comes in. Well.... of course I would! So now there is a blue '03 K12RS with 1.5k miles on it sitting in my garage. Too bad it's supposed to rain the next few days, but I don't feel let down anymore. I did get in a short 100 mile ride. I really like this bike. My only complaint is the handlebar mounted mirrors, but it is SO much better on the freeway. I also LOVE the cruise control. I guess I'm getting old or something. Anyway, a happy dealer story for a change.

Hey Zarfoid
Several of the guys here in Austin have mounted the "S" mirrors on the KRS's. They mounted them in the same place as the "S". Looks good. Just a thought. Congrads on the new bike.

My fingers brush the mirror stalks when I go for the brake or clutch. I was going to get some spacers to put under the stalks, but I like the idea of a fairing mounted mirror much better. Edit: never mind, I found the kits. ~$320. Ha, I haven't even taken delivery and I know what my first mod will be.

Purty color. Been a long time I heard a dealer stepping up. Good for Santa Rosa.

Sorry for the late reply back.
Here is the link for Pirates Lair. They sell the kits and can give you all the info. http://www.piratesk12site.net/
