Bikerfish,
I`m going to look at those dates. That sounds like alot of fun. I just looked it up in the bmw on. I could at least do 2 nights as I`m going on to wy,ut.nv,ca. and back to s.carolina. Regards, Lane |
Wow, I got about 10k out of the front of the supposedly not-as-good-wearing 100x, so 10 on the front of the Pilot Roads should be doable, BUT, the last 1k will suck handling wise, and it would be tough to get that much out of the rear. Very atypical.
I got about 8200 out of the rear 100x. New Pilot Roads seem to be wearing the same. I don't mash the throttle like and idiot (often anyway) and run 34/38 for pressure solo, and don't weigh much (140 now, but I was up at 170 for the above mileages, so who knows, maybe 10k is doable for the new lighter me. Still, don't expect 10 regularly. Not easy to do. 8k is already very good for an ST tire. |

????....Eff, do you push your bike forward, or what ???? ...geez, the "tire-boor" will not get rich from you... Ron. |
So what's the consensus? Pilot Roads are the best compromise between stick and longevity? I need to order some skins FAST! I have about 8K on the Azaro ST's, and, it is the first set of tires that the front wore out faster than the rear. Consensus, people! Or are Diablos the ish? The purchase price isn't the killer, it's having them put on, so I want to be happy, dammit!!!
Your insights are greatly appreciated. :D |
Depending where you live, Cycle Gear mounts and balances off the bike for $12.95 a wheel.
This weekend we tested tires on a long ride. Me Diablo Stradas, Pete Pilot Roads. Pete kept saying how much really liked the PR's, very newutral, even better than Z6's. I have mixed feelings about the Diablo Stradas. They are very responsive to steering input, fall in quicker than the Z6's, and I suspect longevity is going to be good. Side by side comparison the Strada's have a noticably rounder yet taller with a much steeper wall/tread and profile than the Roads do. I'll try the Roads next year. |
