New User here.... and new Bike!!!

Just purchased a 2004 R1100S. Rode one last weekend and was hooked.

No sense preaching here though.

Purchased locally. I was willing to drive pretty friggin far to bring one of these home. Found one of the best right in my back yard.

I also have a 1977 Kawasaki KZ1000 and a 2005 Triumph Rocket III

Well done, Renton, and welcome to the board!

Rocket III... holy schmokies...! (How 'bout a pic?)

Be sure to read up on breaking it in and how to check the oil level (they burn it for awhile).

Steve Carlton, we knew a guy back here in Philly. Same name. Nicknamed Lefty. Man could he pitch. Always excitement when he was on the mound.

Anyhow here are some shots. Obviously that is professional crazy person doing the wheelie and not me.

The bike is extremely powerful. At at any time in any gear, boom..... accelleration. Never stops pulling. The handling is excellent for an 780lb bike. Very comfortable.

Everything you read about it is true. Very nice bike. You definitely should test ride one. Everyone should.

Cool pictures of the Triumph and of course the S.Saddly I didn't ride the Triumph but I sat on one and the seating position is realy excellent for that type of bike. Also think the Rocket 3 is realy cool looking bike even when somebody is sitting on it(unlike the V-Rod witch only looks good when there's nobody on it).How long will that ugly black can on your S stay on?I'm glad we don't have the black can on our european models. There lot's of tips on removing it on the forum though.

I live in Havertown. 15 minutes away with moderate traffic on City ave.

In an new development to the Rocket III:

Some lady in a minivan yesterday broke my Triumph. Made a left hand turn in front of me, accross my path of travel. I need a new triple clamps and some new shiny bits.

Of course she ddi not get even a ticket. Personal responsablity gets tossed out the window again.

It happenned in Manayunk. Right by Tommy Gunns BBQ. I got an outpouring of support and witnesses. It was nice. Everyone saw it and they said she was wrong.

How many motorcyclist have been hurt by minivans? People who drive them are always NOT paying attention.

Yeah, but you should see the minivan...

Sorry to hear about the accident! Sounds like you weren't hurt, which is the main thing.

R-Dog,(Rapid"I sorry I have to work" Dog) is working hard trying to cure that problem to make it safe for all those soccer moms.

Welcome aboard the board Renton, sorry to hear about the RocketIII incident. I ride an S, but drive a minivan when I need to get musical equipment to gigs or guns to the range, so not ALL minivan drivers are oblivious to bikes.

Funny, I sold my '77 KZ1000A1 to help finance my S purchase last year. Behold, my now gone but never to be forgotten Kawasabi:
