Need help in Orange County, CA
I just recently moved from Austin to the OC and am trying to find a shop with a good selection of clothing/accessories. In particular, I'd like to compare and try on some leathers. Need to prepare for my first track day. Any help from the locals would be apreciated!

I've been looking at newenough, but since i've never even had a suit on, am hesitant to order anything without at least trying a few on for size.
Anyone else here going to the BMW track day at Buttonwillow on June 20? |

There should be some big shops in the area that will have a good selection of gear. If you can narrow down the brands that you're interested in by browsing online you could probably locate a dealer that carries the stuff in the LA/OC vacinity and go check it out. There is a fairly large online store that has a large outlet up in San Bernardino you could go to. Look at their online store first and see if there's anything you might want to try on, Chaparral Motorsports

Check out Bob's Cycle Supply off of El Toro Road, I think it's called Bob's, pretty sure actually. That's where I went for almost everything. There's another good Mom and Pop shop in Oceanside, but I can't remember the name of it right off hand. Welcome to Cali Yinzer, I just moved from San Clemente last October and I'll be back again one day. But just a neighboorly heads up... We don't call it "the OC".

LOL,
I was going to say Yinzer, if you had moved to Newport it would be just like the show, and I probably wouldn't have commented. But you did right moving to San Clemente! Grab a wave at Trestles for me some time..... I'll keep looking for the name of that shop in Oceanside, but if you get off on Oceanside BLVD, head west to Pacific Coast Highway, Go south on PCH, and it's maybe a half mile on the right. Anytime I've ever needed an odd-ball part they have carried it in stock, and one of the wrenches used to be a BMW mech.

Welcome to the OC. Z Custom Leathers in Huntington Beach will make suits to fit, if you are real serious. zcustom.com They will also do repairs on any brand if you ever need them (I know from experience). See you on the Ortega some time!

if you guys continue to refer to it as the "OC", pretty soon a menacing gang of white middle-aged guys are going to surround you with their mercedes/range rover/hummers and honk the living tar out of ya.
the only "OC" going on down here is computer over-clocking. ...brad
