JeffRo

Now we need to be real careful here, my friend.
If you think about how much realistically we are looking at on engine mods, bang for buck, we really do need to be careful and consider getting a PCup, look what your getting for really a very reasonable price, and bascially good to go, no plastic rollers to make up for lack of juice.
I must admit i am weakening very fast on the PCup venue, the K-S doenst do much for me, but this PCup things is really making me feel kinda good all over, what i wanted the MV to be but never could be, looks, power, sex appeal, acoutraments, and of course its a Beemer.
We need to talk this over carefully, we might get a better dealio on 2 or more.
Ill broker it from up here if you like.
A phone conf is in order soon.

I hear one is coming to SJ for Periot soon.

nothing wrong with 4cycl MC's, they have a place, usually ahead of any of us when the gas is on, this biz about trying to wax gsxr's with BCRs is kinda silly really, different bikes and i think we tend to push it a bit on the donkey bikes, i love mine to death, however when its time to really get it one, might makes right and we all know that.
These BCRs are never gonna be Dcu 9r's in Beemer drag, no matter how much money we throw at them.
I think the new K searies is a real hit for a street oriented performance machine, the K-R is starting to do it for me, in a real BMW sorta way, and i like that.
JeffRo gets a little confussed now and then as we all do, drawn into the twin vortex, i understand his obsession with the R-S bikes, after all i have 2 they are great bikes, but on those days when your gonadds are in an uproar and you really want to get it on, on the street, well, nothing beats a howling set up 4, nothing.
I made the mistake of taking a full tilt boogie 03-gsxr-1000 race bike out sunday for a brief illegal spin, dam the torpedos, when ya wannu howl, well ya gots to have a howler to do it.

I thought they were just a grab rail for when old people use the ultra long beasts in their obvious secondary application as a small bridge. Good for driving a GS over when the creek is a bit too deep to ford.

acid, it's probably one of the guys who was involuntarily dragged away from the GS adventure team and put on this project.
i believe the official term is "pouting designer". if there's a route sheet and clock on the handlebars too, then that's definitely what happened.
check the front fender for evidence of duct tape left over from a score card.

roger...good guess. two of 'em would be handy for the hummer owner.

actually, they'll probably just rename them from handguards to "grip visors" and charge triple for them...maybe more if they have a sticker on 'em.

Do the grip visors come in iridium finish?'
Maybe they're change holders for the majority of these that will be stuck on toll roads anyway. Or maybe they think that a beemer guy with real power really will be making (involuntary) off road excursions a lot. Look for the iridium crash bars / shin visors to come soon.

Hmmm, last trackday, the only guy to chuck it (long stoppage and a couple torn up tents/awnings from a close helicopter landing) was a 'badass' on a K12. Gotta be careful with those things.

It's kinda growing on me, too I'll admit.......I def like the track dress better than the street. I can't get warmed up to that War of The Worlds looking headlight assy. Looks soooo much better in cf. I don't think I could see overtop of my tankbag though once I strapped it on, though...ahhh, minor blip........

Acid,
I just read the UK Bike mag.
They had a very good article on the standard bike.
The main issue is that after 80miles the wind blast on a naked,(can I say naked roger?) bike that can go a real 155mph beats you to a pulp.
Now, that said the power cup model would be just what I would like to try.
I'm told that their maybe a little higher wind screen available.
An inch or two might work very well.
So..... acid do you think you can get one or two of these limited bikes.
let me know.
jeff

ill call A$S, and even if we have to wait till next year no biggie, i want to be careful before we throw megabucks into engine mods and go no where fast, i think you are where you want top be all things considered on your BCR.
BCR = sport rour, bag it
have a PCup for tearing it up?

I think the hand guards are for air management as the the naked bikes don't have much smooth surface areas to stablize the air at speed. I hope my 2 cents is worthed something.

The more I look at the R the more I could consider it. Maybe with an RS-type minifairing on the front, just no ricky-racer fairing and clipons. The main issue for me is that it's a hugely-powerful inline-4. like a kid in a candy store....I can't be trusted with power

I don't know why they're on a P-cup bike, but I like handgaurds on motorcycles. I ride when its cold. Heatgrips are nice, but its the outside of my hands that get cold from the windblast. Now, how about some heated levers.

Damn sexy bike. But I'll wait a few years for one thats been beat on a crashed and more in my price range.

brad...it's obvious that the handguards are for taking out mirrors and such while lane splitting in LA traffic.

Go for the titanium spiked version just to be sure of maximum carnage.
