Ditto what Roger said, over 15K miles on mine...so far so good. Didn't someone use the carbon fiber sidestand plate they sell at aerostich to fabricate a new plate??? This was a couple of yrs ago.

I'd suggest replacing that bracket prophylactically. ;) Or, at least putting something on there to prevent the adjuster from going between the tire and swingarm if it comes loose. Fortunately, mine had a ziptie securing the hose to the frame right next to the adjuster. When I heard a little knocking sound, it was dangling there in a very hazardous way...

Those brackets are worthless. And BTW, Ohins isn't too concerned about it. When I first called them, they had to have my receipt to replace it. I called them back twice to tell them my receipt wasn't handy, but could they call Aftershocks who sold and installed them. I mentioned the risk of the adjuster jamming my rear wheel and causing a crash, but they NEVER called me back. I figured why replace one POS with another, so I had SJBMW fabricate an original looking one for $60.

Steve A; yes it is...street 'legal', too. I love to ride it thru the park I live next to. Funny thing is, nowadays, it doesn't get a second glance...any harley worth it's bling factor is way louder.

At the risk of sounding arrogant...I don't know what you dudes are doing to this bracket, but it's unreal that so many have broken...well, at least a few...

It must have to do with how little purchase the Ohlins bracket as on the frame mount...

It appears that the fatigue is coming from the bracket having so little area to rest on and then it's vibration creating a weakness along the "cut" line when mounted on the outside, and fatigued in the same way when mounted on the weld nut on the inside.

I mounted mine inside the frame. I pulled it off last night so Oscar could take some measurements...

However...knowing the scenarios so far, I used a large-ish washer to help give the bracket more support...mebbe so should you too...

If I'm not mistaken, that part has the "look" of 7xxx series aluminum, which is brittle (not meant to be flexed). Ohlin should simply make that piece out of steel. The weight difference would be next to nothing, as it could be made much thinner.
