The story of my bike
5 years ago I asked Dr. Curve for advice on whether I should get an R11S or a K12RS. He told me that the K was the king of the open road, and the R was supreme in the tights. Oregon has both. I went with the K, butt always had a thing for the R. After totaling my K my wife did not want another one in the family, so shopping for an R was not too big a hardship.
I see an ad in the local paper for a '99 with 1600 miles on it, and after 5 days or so I call on it, then go look. The story was that a race guy (?) bought it in Medford and used it to tour to Canada. The next owner was 46 years old and felt he needed a bike. After 400 miles he scared himself and parked it, under cover, for the next 4 years. He was asking 8,300 for it. I asked if he would take 7500 and he said yes. When I saw the bike a few issues surfaced and I offered 7, which upset him, butt he said OK. This guy is a Dr. with a young "trophy wife". I shouda' wheedled him down more!
