More Tuono Goodness

While I didn't buy one, I have been turning a ratty 00 Mille into a Tuono. I should have it "road legal" in a week or two.

Gotta hand it to them, even something as lowly as the upper shock mount is machined beautifully.

Lookin' Goooooood!

Is that can from your Mille or a salvage Tuono?

Did you feel how much it weighs.

If so, I guarantee you won't be puttin' it back on.

Do you have a source for the Tuono bits you will need to finish the project?

Short version of the story:
A close friend passed away from cancer. The Mille (which he had partially streetfightered) had just begun to be torn down because it wasn't running right/overheating when he got sick. The bike was far enough gone to where it was ether going to gather cobwebs, be sold for parts or get shagged out as a track b1tch All three were unacceptable outcomes for a bike my friend cherished so I bought it from the family to fix and ride.

Thanks, it was a lot of work, had to replace the wire harness and fix the cooling system. It now idles and runs right, and the fans kick on at the proper temp. I even got to take it for a short spin to get gas, although since the used headlight hasn't come in yet I can't actually hit the road on her yet.

Its the stock Mille can and yeah it weighs a ton, but I kind of dig the way it looks. Eventually I'll do a 2-2 system, which will help with the notorious flat spot in the midrange.

Yeah I have a source or two besides eBay, and some stuff like the bits the cover the coils and cooling system I'll have to bite the bullet on and buy new. I'm planning on taking Mille lowers and chopping them into a long bellypan similar to what the Tuono Racing has.

I have most of what I need already and just came across people at the right time. The Tuono front fairing, stay, top clamp, risers and one or two other things only cost me 300; I know I got them for a steal and the guy was real honorable as he said people after me offered him a lot more for those parts. Slap on a renthal and its good to go:

Its all good fun and its been super inexpensive thus far. I'll have her on the road for less than $3k.
