"He loved his motorcycle," Machak said. "Before he went to bed at night, he used to walk out in the garage just to look at it."

Don't we all? Godspeed, Mike Tunney.

I drove that road a lot too, going skiing at Stevens Pass (if its the one I think it is). Very, very sad.

it seems entirely the fault of the cage driver at this point, according to newspaper reports; the classic left turn. My fantasy would be for the angels, hessians, bandidos, etc, to show up at the cage driver's house to deliver a messsage that the cager would never forget.
Until 'inadvertant vehicular homicide' is taken seriously by the public at large, this will continue to occur, and don't even get me started about the death of personal responsibility in this country....

JonyRR- I'm sure that driver's life is already seriously ruined. I don't think its so much not feeling responsible for one's actions, as most people just aren't "in the moment" like motorcycle riders are trained to do. Remember the S that got clipped at Laguna Seca by the "nice" teenage girl? People just space out and do damage, but not intentionally (usually).

JL; not enough. That driver should never be able to be behind the wheel, ever again, if indeed he (I believe it's a he) was at fault and so far, the info was that it was the classic left-hand turn and 'I didn't see him'...of course he didn't, he wasen't paying attention because society doesn't require it anymore..

Cage drivers; clueless cellphone-deepthroating sokker moms; mr. big-shot businessman too busy making his deal to pay attention to his driving...you mean you haven't met those folks yet...? You will...they gotta have a bunch of 'em there out chi-town way...
