High seat on old rear frame
Hi,
I think I might like the high seat (820mm) offered on late S'es on my 1999 S. However, according to ETK, there was a change in the rear frame in 2001 that went along with different seat part numbers. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=0422&mospid=47961&btnr=52_2346 The high seat is only available for the late frame, so I am wondering if anyone has any experience with using a late seat on an early rear frame. |

The change was to the spacing between the rubber donuts that fit into the receptacles in the center of the seat. The later frames/seats have wider spacing. You can either cut the posts shorter on your frame or relieve the new seat base to accept the narrower spacing - either works fine.
