Groovy tire iron tip
While riding home last night, I picked up a staple in the rear tire. The hole it left was to small to ream and plug so I dismounted the tire and patched it from the inside. As I'm juggling the rim protectors and the tire irons, wishing I had another hand, I think... why not protect the tire irons instead of the rims, same result, right? I dug up an old split mountain bike tube, 26x1.125 and cut off 3 4inch pieces, slid them over the irons and Presto Bueno, easy sneezy. couldn't have worked better. I promptly and ceremoniously cremated my rim protectors in the driveway.

This is so simple I can't believe I hadn't thought of this. Thanks Phil.

Get that patented and create a german-sounding name and logo for it. You can charge $59.95 for each one!

I've always wanted to be Luigi or Walter, never Phil.
