2-up seat poll

Would the forum members please indicate the type of seat they use and whether they like it for 2-up riding, or still want to replace it with something else?
currently I am using an unaltered OEM but my pillion is not happy.

Wife and I ride all day on the stock seat... I am 180lbs, and she is 100lbs.

Together we have put on over 7000 miles on the Sargent, much better than stock for both of us.

The wife and I do frequent day trips on the OEM seat. She says she'd prefer a back rest, but overall no real complaints. I'm 5'11" 175lbs, she's 5'5" 130lbs.

When I first got the S wife thought the ride was wonderful, compared to the HD FXDX w/Corbin (thankfully gone, sorry CK). Left knee/right foot surgeries have decreased her agility. I don't think she could get on with the bags mounted. Her favorite for short hops is an '81 400 Honda.

My wife hasn't spent a lot of time of the back of my S (still using the stock seat) but she's very comfy on it as long as she has a backrest. I only install the Givi rack and topcase (for backrest purposes) on the S when she's going riding with me. A Corbin with the quick detach backrest would be more convenient for this purpose, but I hated the Corbin that I had installed and resold it. Not many passenger backrest options on this bike, unfortunately.

i took the passenger pegs off, so the wife has to ride her own bike! before i did that though she like the corbin better. however, i've never spoken to anyone that didn't have trouble, when ordering a new seat from corbin. they have some significant quality control issues. cheers,
Lance

Corbin

We ride 2 up about 50% of the time. Wifey was very insecure w/o a backrest. The only backrest I could find was the Corbin setup which we got a few years ago. I never had any complaints about the stock seat solo, but the Corbin "angle" is much better (I think there are lots of posts on this). Backrest is perfect for the missus, to the point where she's been known to doze off on longer trips! We've put on about 16000 km. two up.

Corbin is a vast improvement and you can find them used for a reasonable price. Passenger portion is a vast improvement according to those that ride there.

My wife hates riding 2up on the S, especially after trying out the Honda ST.

I rarely ever ride 2 up but when I do the stock seat works just fine. Now its been modified with a little more padding and it works even better.

I did not fit my stock seat well at all and got a Corbin early on . I love it for it's firmness and it's cut. My wife does not like it because she says it puts her to high behind me, but she rarely rides anyway. She says it is comfy on her bottom, though.

I got the Corbin with the backrest for my wife. Now she thinks I need to get an LT so she can ride in comfort. I don't think so.

Complety Off Topic:

Not nearly as cool as Dave Grohl, but some other Motorcycle/Rock Star trivia, Neil Pert the drummer of Rush {see 70's prog rock} sides his bike between gigs while his bandmates take the private jet. {and article in one of the major motorcycle mags did a great story on it.}

I worked in the music Biz as a Art Director for years, also, Peter Fonda will only ride a Motorcycle, and will only be driven in a car, will not drive himself. He would wander the halls at Rhino records quite often while I was there.

any other oddball celeb/moto trivia?
