2005 R1100S?

I didn't know any bikes came through with an '05 stamp.

That is unique. Can't say I'm too excited about the paint scheme. Looks like the wheels are white. We did get the '05 Replika.

I never got the full scoop as to why the 2005's non-BRPs were canceled. Was it just to make room for the eventual replacement?

Without the VIN, which is not listed in the ebay ad, there is no way to confirm it's an '05. I have a call in to the local dealer to see if he can find out how many were made as '05's, other than the Replikas.

The seller is Cliff's BMW, a dealer. They say that bike was the only '05 non-BCR. Their text:

One of a Kind - 2005 R1100S in Alpine White/Silver - This bike is a VERY RARE (2005) R1100S. In fact, this was a color combination slated for 2005 production until the R1100S model was cancelled. There were very few 2005 R1100S's produced, but only 1 of this color combo. We have been told this bike was ordered for brochure studio photos and never made it. BMW even lists 'Photo Bike' in the option codes. Get your hands on the only bike of its kind in the country.
Options include:ABS, Heated Grips, Low Shield, Low Bars, Clear Lenses, Rear Cowl, Special Paint - NO Center Stand.

Looks like my bike except for the (stupid) white wheels and stripes...;-)
I have seen a bunch of bikes produced in Oct/04 at dealers in silver, blue, red or titanium/yellow.technically those last 1100S made should be all 05's...

...not correct ; there are more in this color-combination. See picture (the bike in the picture is already a (Dutch) second-hand one...)

...you simply could (and can) order your bike in this color.

RoLoo, it IS the only one, if you read attentively, you would have noticed that he said it is the only one....in AMERICA! The one you showed is in the Netherlands. He's right.

I understand, you're mind is on the upcoming R1200S, you can't focus, I'm the in the same situation.

...no, no, no ; my mind isn't on the R 1200 S. First I thought I had to buy the K/R, but somehow I like the boxer better, so now I'm thinking about tuning my "old" 1100 S. With 1150 cc, bigger valves (36/31,5 mm), high lift cams, polished ports, some lightweight stuff, etc. In €uro's it will set me back 3550, and it brings me a bike doing about 118 HP...

...BTW, I (also) saw this : ...there were very few 2005 R1100S's produced, but only 1 of this color combo...
...that is why I replied...

Yup, good idea. I was looking at that BBPower upgrade very seriously for a while.

May I suggest you do the aforementioned upgrade, except with 1200cc pistons? BBPower now have the 1200cc jugs in stock...Now THAT would make some serious power. The R1100S would be a complete bike with that, no doubt...

I just checked ebay--looks like the albino S was pulled off the auction block after only five days, on 9/15/05 (before anyone bidded on it). The dealer's starting bid was $12,990. Maybe someone at the dealership offered more than this amount....

RoLoo,
(1)What kind of HP gain do they claim? I like the idea.
(2)As far as the 05`s. The dealer where I bought my 05 boxercup has some S bikes. Maybe they are 04 carry overs.

...with 1150 cc, HiLift cams, high compression pistons, and some lightweight valve adjustment stuff : 112 HP

...the same list, but also with polished ports, and bigger valves : 118 HP

Well, the stage 5 BBPower kits make 132 HP at the crank, and 124HP at the rear wheel. This is with 1150cc pistons. I am curious to see the gains the same configuration would yield, albeit with 1200cc pistons.
