More on Braking Wave Rotors
Braking in Italy introduced the new Wave brake rotors (a petal shaped rotor) on the Corona Extra World Superbike GSX-R6 this year and the people at the team claim a 0.9 Kg unsprung weight savings on the front wheel alone.
The Corona team paired these rotors with stock 4 -pot Tokiko calipers and EBC pads and said that despite the slightly reduced swept area of the disks there was increased braking power and feel. Anyone know which master cylinder they chose? Riders say the package has LOTS of bite and keep suprising themselves with how fast they can stop from wide open in 5th gear. The real advantage, however, comes in flicking the bike side to side where the reduced mass and gyroscopic effect makes the bike steer almost as fast as a GP bike with carbon disks. Imagine what these would be like with a choice set of Marchesini's or Dymags! If you're all interested e-mail the guys at Braking and see if we can spark interest in getting these fitted to the S. The e-mail address is: info.tec@braking.com |

Boy here's another upgrade to win over my wife?? I think all upgrades should come with a wife disclaimer. i.e. how to justify to your spouse the purchase of this upgrade

Well i should note that these rotors are really only intended for racing application and both Braking and Galfer are only making them available to the racing people for this reason. I don't know when there will be enough production of these for general street application and I really dont think you'll see that big of a difference in sport riding unless you're diving into corners at 80-100mph and applying throttle throughout the corner.
