There's a race lower that Randy Mamola uses on his R1100S race bike, I think it's used in the Boxer Cup or something similar.
I believe you can get a glimpse of it on Markus's R1100S website, it's the picture with Luca Cadalora. DC [This message has been edited by D.Carmichael (edited 11-01-2000).] |

You can start your investigation here:
http://www.bmw-mc-vl.be/en/bmw_info/nieuws_boxercup.html Someone @ the above website should be able to help you find the maker of the lower pictured on Markus's site with Luca Cadalora. Thumbs up, DC |

D.Carmichael, thanks for the Boxer Cup link. I emailed Club Europa, and they are doing a search for the spoiler. I will relay the info to the other members of the list. Regards, Sam

Gentlemen, for all of you who expressed interest in an engine spoiler other than oem cf.I am in touch with Eurotech, and they represent the G&G Technik line. They have a nice spoiler, available in 3 colors and also unpainted. Their web price lists $525, IMO, is high. Eurotech will deal, if we can put up some kind of a head count. How much of a discount? Don't know, but I will try and nail it down. Let me know. Regards, Sam

The GGtechniK piece looks nicer than the ones on the Race Bikes. From the pictures, the race bike belly pans look like flat sheets of plastic just hung under the motor to make the bike legal for track use. (I know guys who wire alum turkey pans under their bikes for track days!) They also match factory colors. Keep in mind that you will have to remove it every time you change the oil.
GGTechnik also makes color-matched front fenders, but they cost as much as the factory carbon one

Check it out http://www.r1100s.net/boxercup.htm
Hello again, There are 2 different type of lowers used in the Boxer Cup. One is just a simple flat tray like lower, as seen on the FINA R1100S. My favorite because it keeps the great lines the boxer has and look not to be confused with a japanese sport bike. It appears to do what it's suppose to and nothing else, hmmmmm simplicity. Then there is a bulkier version that's closer to the BMW lower which in my opinion looks alot nicer.(the BMW version that is) I've seen the one made by GG Technik, it's actually a front scoop/chin scoop etc. Nice looking as well but for what you get it's very expensive. Thumbs up, DC And thanks to M.Turner's Website for the photos. [This message has been edited by D.Carmichael (edited 11-15-2000).] |
