BBPower chip, take two.
Now, as I’m about to leave the states for a month I finally have the BBPower chip installed and working in my S. The first chip (BBPower) I had installed for my R1100S failed. The bike simply would not start, no signal to the fuel injectors, nothing... Most likely a DOA chip. With the help of the very good Roger Albert and awesome Bernhard Bludau, a new chip found its way to me shortly after attempting installation the first chip. Getting a new replacement chip was headache free because of the work of these two men. Several months have passed with the hcip sitting on my desk, and finally a week before I take my vacation the second chip is installed.
Wow! From GO! to red line the S pulls harder than ever. My S is sporting a Two Brother Racing exhaust and a K&N air filter. I will not be able to have a dyno run until my return in March by which time the values will have been ported and piston and rods balanced. However, my initial seat-of-the-pants testing has left me very impressed. I hope for a few days of warmer weather before I leave to really open up the bike. The S is a wonderful bike, fast and agile: More so now... ------------------ Matthew Going fast doesn't bother me, its the crashing and burning that sucks [This message has been edited by t0land (edited 01-25-2001).] |
