BMW flyer
Just got a flyer today advertising R1100S with ....get ready for this,,,,,,.90% financing. Yup, less than 1 percent financing. And 3.90% on the K1200RS and LT. Glad I waited a year before buying my first BMW (R1100RT) to catch on to this slick marketing.

I saw the same flyer dropped to me from a birdie in the sky. I'm in college and even I can afford to by a new 1100S. Not only is it .9% financing (almost free money), but they have a $0 down and 90 day deferred payment also!! I checked it out to see if it was too good to be true, and it's not. Here in Iowa it is good until the end of February.

I got mine through my company. All cost are covered by it. I would rather have paid cash though.

Malc,
Too true - you can really go off people you know! I thought I was doing well - bought mine on my Visa card and got enough profile points for my Missus to get a return flight to Milan this Summer. She can sip her G'n'T courtesy of BA while I keep the Bridgestones warm. This means (jeeez, I'm excited!!) I can take the bike down solo over 3 days with only a small amount of luggage in my tailplack and tankbag - won't have to attach the touring cases - and then really go for it on the Alpine passes instead of fearing a punch in the kidneys everytime I go over 90mph. Meet up at the hotel by Lake Como. Yeeeehaaaa! ![]() ![]() ![]() Fancy tagging along for the journey anyone? Richard. [This message has been edited by Gromit (edited 02-06-2001).] |

I'm somewhere in between. Mine was a for my little company and magazine deal, but, it pushed me into the red for the year, so it was still a long ways from free. I only ended up with 7% interest, so I didn't do as well there. Middle of the road I suppose.

Malc,
I was not trying to be a smartass. My company actually leased it. So the credit rates are much worse than the BMW offer. Down here in OZ it is one of the few benefits I can get from my small company to releive the excessive taxes. ------------------ LENNIE |
