Yes, very ironic. Protect the pipes. Leave your own squishy bits to fend for themselves. Ouch

it's all kinda funny, but i've had both hardly ablesons and sport bikes come sliding/bouncing through a corner from the other direction....rider to follow later.

the really interesting part: doesn't he just look like every third HD rider you see? black t-shirt with logo, the helmet, sunglasses, moustache and those gloves that make you wonder "what the hell are you thinking?"

What would Reg Pridmore think of this knee dragging technique?

1. those front floorboards don't fold up
2. I would guess about 40 to 45 mph judging by the distance over the three frames.
3. DA let go to wave at the photographer and look cool and leaned into the curve to hard I think and clipped that ridged floorboard on the right side against the pavement totally freaking him out.
4 by picture two he has started to loose traction and has probably stuck his foot out on the right side and touched the ground which kicks his ass up off the seat and he pulls on the left handle bar to get back on compounding the skid about the time the road grabs him by the right foot again and jerk his dumb a$$ of the bike
5 with fatboy off it's back the hog probably gets a grip with the tires and starts skipping off the edge of the road while duffus rolls and breaks stuff on the other side of the road.
6 all of it could have been avoided if he just kept his hand on the bar or at least didn't panic at the first scrape.

What would suck was being the guy coming the other way and getting taken out by a 700 pound bowling ball!!

That is why I rode the gap at 7:30 am the 2 mornings I was there this past spring. Have fun before the circus shows up

In pic 2 I want to say the crashbar/outrigger lifted the front wheel up, but no sparks coming from there, which is odd...

Nice camera and photographer, didn't even flinch. I wonder if he was aware of the other dresser coming along.

Yikes!

Loud Pipes Make... Sparks.

In a chrome Bar&Shield frame no doubt. Live to ride, ride to wear cutoff t-shirts, fingerless gloves, and assless chaps outside the house.

Was he actually wearing a helmet or did he just paint his bold head black?

had what looks to be some countersteering going on in pic 1, but no body lean to assist at all. basically, i'd say he was cooling for the photog, lost track of where he wanted to be looking for the corner, and by the time he got it back together, panic mode set in. probly rolled off the throttle in/by pic 2, which is what helped to cause the bigger drag. tires appear to remain in contact, so i'm thinking he just freaked, and bailed.
"yup, had to lay the bike down to avoid having an accident." (you'd be amazed how many times we hear some variation of that in a noobie MSF class) "asshat, laying the bike down WAS the accident!" (you'd be amazed how many times we want to say that in a noobie MSF class, and restrain ourselves from doing so).

edited to remove evidence of brain farts.

I think many H-D and cruiser riders are intimidated by skilled sport riders and rely on the limitations of their rides to cover-up their own lack of skills. After all posing is easier and more important to these types. And then on top of it they bash the "crouch rocket" crowd every chance they get. Criticize things you don't know about. When it's time to rely on instincts to get out of a situation but the skill poll is empty the trouble begins.

You are right. Image is their thing. Thats sad but true. I ride with some of these knuckle heads because some of my friends own HD`s. A very insecure group for the most part but some good guys out there. I just hate the loud pipes, they think it cool the rest of the world thinks it sucks. And now most of the nice hotels in myrtle beach will not allow bikes of any brand because of the noise.

Yup. In pic 2 the front wheel looks to be stopped, but it's ok, cuz it's rolling again in pic 3...
