OT....The perpetual nonsense thread

Posing is painful

bradzdotcom 10-04-2005 09:33 AM

photo caption time:
foto#1: "Yes YOU can be an idiot too! It's easy! And Fun! Just watch me...I'll show you how."

foto#2: "Start by racking your Hardly Ableson up on the right floorboard and highway/gynocologist mounting system, until you tuck the front end. Grip the bars very VERY tightly, because this is for sure the best time to fight with your bike. Advanced riders even slam on the brakes at this point, to enhance the effect."

foto#3: "Then simply roll off to the low side, leaving your bike to slide, flip and bounce, possibly killing oncoming riders, the buddy behind you or a convertible packed with nuns."

Steve Carlton 10-04-2005 09:40 AM

#1: "Yeah, buddy!"
#2: "D'oh! Got some extra sparks here..."
#3: "Damnit! I'm never gonna polish out that pipe! Just got it, too..."

I don't understand how he fell off, he was barely leaned over....musta' jumped.

Trex 10-04-2005 10:27 AM

Ouch. What's he doing with his left hand in the first picture? Is he pointing to the photographer?

ErricZ 10-04-2005 10:31 AM

Yup, looks like he was trying to give the "You Man" sign! :) Then he proceeded to tighten up and jump off the bike ... moron ...

Flatbutt1 10-04-2005 10:32 AM

How'd he dump that? It doesn't look like the wheels came up, neither did they slide out. WTF? Did he just fall off?

levert 10-04-2005 10:35 AM

His cutoff Tshirt should help ease the pain.Good helmut!Once your chin has been ground off Halloween is a poplular time with your new face.
Who knows , maybe he saved it and he was just lighting his cigarette.

RTAYLOR 10-04-2005 10:40 AM

It also looks like the poor boy applied the front brake a little to much in pic #2. Possibly causing the front wheel to lock and pitch him lowside.

Flatbutt1 10-04-2005 10:45 AM

Huh, a cruiser finally uses the front brake and look what happens.

pdonnell 10-04-2005 11:04 AM

Looks like his engine protector bar and whole right side for that matter may have lifted the bike (since it couldn't lean anymore). And the bike was entering the oncoming lane when he decided to bail. Probably thought better to jump off now than go down with this pig sliding across the lane and over the embankment.
Without knowing his speed I'd have to say he wanted off "NOW". Bet he'll think twice about T-shirts again for riding.

bradzdotcom 10-04-2005 11:06 AM

pd has the right idea.
and as far as speed...hey man, it's a hardly ableson. i'm guessing 35 mph.

it looks like what he did was fold up the floorboard to make sparks, and then the highway peg mounting bar hit the pavement, which can lift the weight off the front wheel (you can see the front wheel is slightly tucked in the second photo).
after the weight came off the front wheel, the bike rolled/tipped further to the right, bending the highway peg mounting bar and putting the bike's weight onto the exhaust pipe, at which point all hope of saving it is gone.

but he did look cool in the first foto with the "you da man" finger point, eh?

rob_wijhenke 10-04-2005 11:10 AM

Harley guy. hehe. Sorry.

SparkyBlue 10-04-2005 11:42 AM

I would suck to be him.

Flatbutt1 10-04-2005 11:55 AM

Dunno if Killboy uses a flash or not but, if not in pic #2 it sure looks like the front wheel is stopped.

Probably locked the front. Looks like he gave up on that idea by pic #3...

SparkyBlue 10-04-2005 01:48 PM

Ya know, it seems a ironic that the bike has pretty good protection with the crash bars in front and back, but essentially nothing for himself above the boots.

ctwise 10-04-2005 02:00 PM

Notice also in pic #1 that he is leaning his body out of the corner, which only makes the bike lean farther into it. This is the instinct of a very inexperienced rider.
