Indicators/Elec Short circuit found n cured

After 6 months without indicators and hours of fiddling without success I dumped the bike at the dealers. £100 later ($140) they said they'd cured it.... but it failed again 3 miles later.
Anyway spent 4 hours yesterday finding the prob..... This was a major wiring prob which may have caused fire - if you ever have elec probs check this first...

The black plastic electrics 'pod' in the front left fairing houses hundreds of wires. If you check underneath there are countless yellow plastic shrouds where several same colour wires are joined. Check the main power connection - there are 7 red wires of varying guage all tightly packed and connected by a metal crimped thing. These had been getting too hot and were in fact smoking when I hit the indicator button. Three of the seven wires were charred black, two were actually broken. So now all cleaned up and properly connected everything's just fine.
Be warned.

No other mods. Just one of those things I guess, but maybe one to look out for.
