Post Are Showa shocks rebuildable?

My front shock is shagged and I was wondering if they are rebuildable?
Has anyone, whom has removed their front shock, noticed if it has an easily removable top?
Cheers, Frank

Probably by some very expensive outfit that may or may not be convienent to your location.
Save your Dinars/Kopeks to purchase Ohlins/Works/Penske.They will transform the bike into a very compliant partner in road gobbling.

They WILL be rebuildable –*but probably very expensive and inconvienent.

I personally found the stock units unfit for anything but freeway droning...barely.

Yes they are rebuildable

If you type shock rebuild in the search engine you should be able to find several post on the subject.

And if I recall it's a lot cheaper than aftermarket shocks.

A few people have talked very highly of L.E.

The shop is Lindemann’s Engineering, (408) 371-6151 (the west coast)

I have had mine rebuilt and I think Lennie also did. He is just a touch closer to you than I am so he may have some info on where to get them done. Cost: Olins rear $900, rebuild stock $150

Thanks for your input guys, I have sent Lennie an email asking him for his advice and yes he is a lot closer to Tasmania.
I also did a search using shock rebuild rather than rebuildable shock and found some threads.
Cheers Frank
