The trouble with people like Cecil is they've got no class. You have to be a little more refined to appreciate the qualities of a BMW.

kgibbs 06-25-2001 01:29 PM

The hell you do. A monkey could tell the difference between a Beemer and a Harley.

Cecil has class but I hear he also enjoys bananas.

CarlosT 06-25-2001 03:27 PM

Oh Cecil's here! Cecil loves Aprilias. Anyone here know if Aprilias like the Falco hold up? I remember a thread where a Euro magazine tested two Italian *touring* bikes an ST4 and a Falco which basically disintegrated after some extended autobahn romping. Is this right?

Welcome Cecil.

turnerm 06-25-2001 03:49 PM

Did they kick Cecil off the Harley board?
Whats he doing here?

BEEEMMMDUBBAYEWW 06-25-2001 04:23 PM

I must confess.
This Sunday, i met up with the local Truimph, Benelli, and Norton fellows for some brunch.

I noticed a new BMW in the lot, and admired it from afar. After noshing, i returned to the lot to witness something so aghast, i could barley comprehend it.

I witness two portly gentlemen trying to (ahem) push start the BMW. Now, i would love to tell you the model, but to tell you the truth, i'm not at all into memorizing all the digits after the K's and R's and such.
All i can say is that it waas large. Very large, and very Blue.

Back to the the topic.
Those two portly gents tried, to no avail, to (ahem), push start the massive beast. The beast was so massive in fact, that it left 12" long black patches of rubber from the rear tire locking up. But, if someone were to take a snapshot, it would ALMOST look like the rider was indeeed trying to perform what is commomly known among the cretin's, as a "Burn Out".

Very funny indeed.I wanted to lend a hand, but was in shock. It was like i was passing the scene of an auto accident on the Freeway. I was so fixated on the site of the "perfect motorcycle" that supposedly was 99.9% trouble free, that i just stood there, mouth agape. This could not be happening. I am happy to report that i now have seen everthing, and wouldn't be more surprised if OJ Simpson admitted his guilt.

After seeing this display of German Technology at it's best, i have decided against purchasing one.
Thank You.
(I'll be at StarBucks, on my newly purchased Falco)

I thought them big Beemers had a re-verse in 'em. Hey ain't them Beemers a furrin' motrasicle? Ain't this the Harley Davidson board?

It seems as if the not so subtle humor in JAS's post was lost on some people.

Where's the burnout pictures?

CarlosT 06-25-2001 04:29 PM

It's cretin not cretain...dumbassch!

bigj 06-25-2001 04:40 PM

I bought a Ural, 'cause they told me it is BETTER than a BMW, and a lot less expensive. Is this true?

turnerm 06-25-2001 04:41 PM

Sorry, Starbucks is for BMW riders.
Falco owners hang out at Chuckie Cheese.
Oh, and I think he's taking Creatine.

CarlosT 06-25-2001 06:02 PM

Or Chromium

Congratulations! You have witnessed the 0.1% in person.
Please, don't waste your time awaiting the next 0.1% to arrive, particularly with your mouth agape. I'm certain some obscure faction of the Humane Society will take you to task regarding cruelty to flies. http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate/smile.gif

A thought on the above - is this the best way to partake of the inimitable taste of Starbuck's coffee?
Inquiring minds want to know.

Gary.

I love Aprilia's. This is true. However, the bike I ride is a ZX9.

Faster than a Beemer? Ummmmm. Yes!

Prettier than a Beemer? Ummmm. What isn't?

More reliable than a Beemer? Duh. No brainer.

Andrew Stemp 06-26-2001 01:00 PM

AS I said before, no class and unrefined.

Perfect. That is exactly why i dont own a BMW. If i Need to be a certain way, piss on 'em. If i cant be who and what i am, to hell with it.

Buell has the most diverse group of owners, i dare say, than any manufacturer.

Having said that, a good friend of mine has an S. And i am proud to say that he is an aspiring Hooligan, he may never own a buell, but hes will be insane someday. http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate/wink.gif

But of course you have to be of a certain refined character to ride a BMW. Please don't besmirch the name by calling it a Beemah. If you cannot appreciate it's refined ride and twisting motion when you accelerate.

If you need some refinement please go to your nearest bistro for a fine mocha latte and some Robert Frost poetry. Then I would advise that your ride at a reasonable pace down your most favorite country road while humming the overture you overheard at your bistro of choice.

Prettier than a Beemer? I think ZX9s are cows! (Read: SUBJECTIVE)

More reliable? Come to me when you can say that it did 200,000 miles.

Faster than a Beemer? We didn't buy them because they were THE FASTEST, that would have to be a Yamaha RD400, of course!

SHUT UP AND RIDE FOOL!

Rapid Dog 06-26-2001 01:26 PM

And we all know that riding a motorcycle is the sum of your identity...I'm ride an S now because it suits my riding style and I like dependability...that said, if I had a stable I'd have a Buell S1 Lightning, a Harley Road King, Honda XR, Yamaha R6, 1967 Triumph TR6, Vincent Black Shadow...
Poor boys, ya'll got sucked in by a kid name Cecilly that rides a little green momo...

sam porfido 06-26-2001 01:32 PM

Do you get the feeling that Beanie(BEEEMDUBYEW) and Cecil are related? There must be some reason why they have both been assessed the moniker"junior member". I guess size does matter ......

Willy 06-26-2001 01:43 PM

Better cut it out Cecil, or my dad will beat up your dad.

chris_sherry 06-27-2001 07:32 AM

The only fast, reliable action Cecil is riding is his MOM!

All these stereotypes you japtalians are spewing forth are crap. Go away, I think your service man is calling.
