This bike has been on my mind too. The dealer websites imply that they are still available. Does anyone know, can they still be ordered or has production been sold out?

What about the Paul Smart? If I just had more space in my garage and 14000 to spare...

Yeah those Retro Ducs are seriously good looking and I wouldn't mind having a yellow and black one to fill my garage even might trade my R1100S on one but I'm afraid I won't fit propperly on one of the 1000 sports.Still a very cool bike and in my eyes a bike that has the perfect balance between retro and modern styling and parts(except for the inner tubed tires witch are a bit to outdated to my taste and would have prefereda tubeless design out of safety considderations).

I got to see and sit on this trio at their coming out party at the AHRMA event at Barber Motorsports Park last weekend and was happy to see they made it into production just as I (we) hoped they would. They are gorgeous motorcycles. The bars are extremely low, but appear to be similar in design so that ST3 bars could be swapped out for reasonable ergonomics - without damaging the lines of the bike.

I was told the Paul Smart shown in most available photos is a special edition. It includes the Ohlins suspension and the silver/blue-green color combo. A "regular" Paul Smart will be available in a few months for much less money.

When parked next to a new Bonneville/Thruxton, it will become very apparent that Triumph skimped on a few bucks that could have really finished those bikes off.

One detail I've noticed on new Ducs, these included, is the poor condition of the engine castings. This would go unnoticed on most bikes, but on a bike like a Ducati, where one studies the details, it is a blemish. Apparently, money needs to be spent on new tooling by the factory.

Jeff-

How did they feel size-wise compared to the S (seat height, leg room, reach to bars)?

The ergos of these new Ducs are unnecessarily extreme. Compared to the 'S, the pegs are higher and the bars much lower - even compared to the low bar 'S. Again, I think the ST3 bars will be a popular mod to these new models. As they sit, I don't think they are bikes you'd want to take on a 200 mile ride. Might be different underway, but I don't think so.

Regardless, I'd take a Paul Smart edition in a heartbeat. The Sports are gorgeous, but remind me of water buffalo from the front.

The muffler doesn't do a thing for the looks. A pair of slim, chrome, upswept mufflers would have finished off the classic look.

Yeah, someone took an early lunch break on that design. Vulgar!
