Where to get a dark windscreen and another acreen question?

I'm looking for something along the lines of the one on the black/chrome bike in this thread:
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=162646&highlight=black+ chrome (very nice look

All I seem to find is the Cee Bailey ones that are "dark gray", but they just don't look dark enough for me. I'd prefer a REALLY dark tint (as I always got on my Zero Gravity screens for my Hondas).

Suggestions?

While we're on the topic, where do most folks prefer their screens to direct wind to? For example, I'm 5'10" and with the BMW "Tall" screen the wind is directed right square at my face. This puts my helmet too high to be in the air pocket behind the screen and not high enough to be in "clean air". Needless to say it's a bit loud at highway speeds and I'm trying to figure if I would be Happy with an even taller screen or if I should be back to the stock height. Only the Tall came with the bike and I'd rather not have to buy several to get happy...

this is from MRA, in Germany.

it's not quite as thick as the stock screen, is about 2" taller, and just a smidge wider. reduces buffeting nicely. i'm, 5'10", but taller thru torso than legs- probably comparable to most guys 6' when in the saddle.

Are you using earplugs?

bikerfish1100 10-31-2005 07:40 PM

what?

I use ear plugs about 80% of the time. Even so, it's louder than I've been used to on precious bikes...

try a laminar lip it will reduce the buffeting with the tall shield

Hmmm. I'll see if Lamar has a tinted version...

That's really my goal. A dark, dark, dark tinted screen for my black bike. :)

I think BMW of Seirra got me one last year.

Gustafsson makes a pretty dark screen. Do a search for the R1100S.

Bumped into the Santa Cruz BMW guys at the Ft. Worth new bike show (sucks it wasn't in Dallas this year). Really nice and helpful folks, plus they had a MRA dark tinted screen with them.

Needless to say it's now bolted on my bike... :)

Thanks for the tip!
