O2 sensor help!
 

I am trying to install the laser cat pipe. All is going well other than the O2 sensor will not come loose. Is there a trick? I am using an open end wrench, yea I know the manual shows that cool special socket but I don't have one. My questions are:

Is there enough slack in the O2 wiring to first drop the cat out to the floor then remove the bugger?

Do you leave the cat basically in place, just moved back and loosen the O2 there?

The poor open end won’t give the leverage and it is about to turn that nice hex on the O2 sensor into a smooth round object!

Am I just missing something?

I am about to just cut the damn O2 sensor wire and put a plug in the cat pipe! I guess that would not be good would it?

Man, I really want to ride tomorrow!

When I did mine, the bike was relatively new but the O2 was on there pretty good. Make sure you are using a high quality wrench, and use something as an extension for more leverage (like a piece of pipe).

Well, I went the long way. I removed the O2 connector under the gas tank so I could drop the cat and slide on an box wrench. I Can't believe what a twisted mass exists under that tank. I have had the tank off before but each time I am amazed at how tight all those hoses and wires are wedged in there.

Looking forward to riding tomorrow with a new sound.
