Question Charcoal Canister

I hope this in not already beaten to death!

It may be already posted but what is the purpose of the little black cylinder under my seat?

I know I can relocate it but what happens if I just chop it off!?

One more question, any advice how to safely take off the those little squares off my bodywork?

Thanks everyone you are my heroes!

X-Triple

Not gonna tell ya, cause I like em.

And don't try searching for "squares," who knows who you'll get.

Agreed. Squares good. Removal bad.

Just kidding. I'll photoshop them out for you as a preview. Are you going to get the hardbags? Personally, I like the way the bike looks with the mounting rails on there. If the squares are just decals, heating them up with a hairdryer and pulling them off should work, but get confirmation from somebody here who knows what they're talking about...

I took out only the squares... (I'd think about losing the big "S," personally)

Yup, and if you want to keep the R1100S, you need an Exacto knife and a steady hand.

You can see a pic of my grey/mandarin orange 1100 S on page 214 of the Show Your Bike thread here on PP. For some reason, I can't cut and paste it over to here.

Anyway, I took the decals off the back end (heat gun and Goo Off) and I put reflective black squares along the side (sort of a check board look with the yellow background). Up front, all decals are off except for the orange squares. What to do with that carved out section that the S defined in the one square? It's the perfect place for the SN memorial sticker (works on both sides).

I've removed the all of the stickers off my bike safely with my thumbnail, followed by wiping goo off with rubbing alcohol.

My bike seem to be functioning fine after that

Thanks everyone for your input,

Hey Trex, I have a Belly pan on the way. I might go different and paint it Titan Grey rather than the Tangerine Orange. Steve can you paint shop that??? You did a great job with the "Squares"!

Hard to do paintjobs with Photoshop, at least for me. Here's a quickie:

Probably could use a touch of Mandarin...

you, you, your good

Steve,

I am quite sorry, I guess I don't know my oranges? The belly pan I got coming is a BCR knock-off belly pan.

I wish I could be artistic as Steve.

I'm just razzing you. Mandarin/Titan Gray Metallic are the official names of your colors. Post an 800 pixel wide picture of your bike matching as closely as possible this perspective, and I'll see what I can do. (Or if someone has a decent size pic of a BCR at a direct side view).

Steve,

Will do, it is suppose to be 70 tomorrow and it may be our last time this year to ride. I will get a better picture tomorrow and post it so that you may work your magic.

Frist the belly pan, then comes the exhaust!

Steve has anyone told you today you are awesome and god-like?

I have moved my charcoal canister to a different location, (not as noticeable) but I was wondering if there is a performance reason / improvement if the canister is removed completely.

Thanks
