Here is a comment about this device from our AZbusas message board...

I have one on my race bike. I was involved on the initial testing of the product about 6 months ago and got mine for free because of it. It definitely helps keep rear end stable under hard braking, and gives you a meatier mid-range.

from what i can see it looks like a few of the other fairly general injection mod boxes. it wouldn't be too accurate, or allow precise remapping. a bit like the higher pressure regulator.

not trying to be negative, but i don't really see the point of across the range modifiers. they just aren't anywhere near specific enough. they may be fine on a track bike, but the accuracy needed for nice road running is not availavble. there is still no substitute for a well remapped chip. although it seems to me that if you guys make your own bikes run a bit funny, you'll accept it. if i did the same at work (and then expalined why ), i'd get wailed at for months.

just my opinion, but i have access to chip mods easily. i know how hard it can be to try to get around this when you don't.

Thumbs down

I think one would stand more to lose using this than one could possibly gain. I dont like the idea of splicing something into a perfectly good injection system (I know some hate it and say their bike surge, but mine runs great). I'm not usually this anal, but if that company cant even take the time to read over what their site says and make sure everything is spelled right etc, what makes you think they took the time to make their product toprate?

Next, rev your bike to 500 rpm over redline (in nuetral ) and hold it ther for ten minutes. see if the red light stays on.

Talking

I put one on my bike at the Redmond rally. It has smoothed out the surging I had been experiencing. It mostly happened while splitting lanes between stopped traffic, a real bad time to have a surging motor.

As far as splicing into the wiring, the connectors used can be removed with very little damage to the wiring. BMW does make an adapter that plugs directly into the injectors in front of the original connector. The cost is very high compared to the supplied connectors. Question is, why is the adapter available from BMW?

The Fuel Nanny was presented as the 83i at the rally. Fuel Nanny does suck for a name.

K&N are taking over production of this product soon. Makes you wonder, doesn't it?

ANOTHER BAD TIME FOR SURGING IS WHEN ROLLING ON THROTTLE OUT OF CORNERS. SOMETIMES A BIT TOO ABRUPT (TRACTION!?). ANYONE ELSE EXPERIENCE THIS?

I don't ever recal being ware of any surging during roll ons. But if the throttle cables have more than the minimum prescribed amount of slack there can be abruptness when rolling on.

I mentioned the slack to my dealer when they did the 20k km service and they tightened it up. MUCH MUCH less abrupt. (You do still need to be smooth though, but that true of any bike with lots of low RPM torque.)

Rapt,
Thanks for the tip. I have checked the throttle cable and it seemed OK, I'll take a closer look.
