Lightbulb Trans rattle/chatter fixed?

Recently my S had developed a rattle/chatter coming from the transmission. This rattle would occur after acceleration when one lets off the throttle (about 4000-4500 RMPs)

The bike is under warranty, so I called the dealer and made an appointment to bring it in on Monday.

Today I put the charcoal canister back on so there would be no “voided warranty” arguments.

After the canister was replaced I went for a test ride. The rattle/chatter was gone!

This evening went for a long ride and the rattle never returned.

Now that I think about it, the rattle did seem to start when I pulled the canister! . I am not sure what was happening, but reinstalling the charcoal canister cleared it up.

By the way, When the canister was removed, I had the throttle bodies capped. (No cross over)

Ride safe all!

Did your idle speed change when connected/not connected?

thinks tranny rattle sounds like Ducati clutch rattle, and makes him all squishy inside...

The Idle speed did not seem to change. My first thought was one of the nipple caps must have been leaking.
The caps were cracked/checked looking, but seemed to be holding. (They had only been installed for about 500 miles)

FWIW, I live in Holland, never had a charcoal canister (nobody in Europe), never any rattle. Maybe it's something else afterall?

My guess is that the sound eminates from the well documented rattle that sometimes comes from the trottle bodies.
