2001 R1100S Performance Modifications

Okay - so since I've decided to keep my bike (I was opting to trade in for new K1200GT in Spring) I figure I'll spend some money on some upgrades.

To date I've done the following:

- Sargent seat
- Remus exhaust
- K&N filter
- RD's barbacks

Everything else is stock. What other performance (or other) modifications would you suggest I make to my bike?

Thanks.

Power Commander.
Induct.
HH brake pads.
grind the exhaust welds
if you really wanna go for bling, wave rotors and lighter wheels.
the power commander is the best bang for the buck that i've found, HH pads are a close second

Start at the first thread at work your way down! Some of the cheaper things I learned here include canisterectomy, HIDs, GS arm,cat removal...

Lots of good ideas here, espically JohnnyRR's nitro mix!

Id work on the suspension and brakes before trying to wring out any more power. Its expensive to find extra ponies on this engine.

Speigler braided lines (dual line racer boy setup)
Brake pads
Wave rotors
Shocks (pick your poison)
short Paralever arm if you dont have one already.
Pull the Cat Code Plug

Cat eliminator will get rid of a lot of weight, full exhaust eliminates a lot more.

All depends on your fundage$$$$$$$!

$400 for 9 hp is pretty cheap for a power commander!

upgrade the horn and the lights. Easy and actually quite necessary if you want to live long enuf to use the extra ponies!

I've got an Ultimap chip for a 2001 that is tuned for a free flowing aftermarket exhaust.

It is for the "later ECU's" - I believe for those manufactured in July of 2000 or later. The chip eliminates lean condition on the low end and makes it stronger in the higher revs too.

I'll sell it to you for $45. I had in my bike when I had a stock intake, K&N, and a Staintune exhaust. I removed it when I added an InDuct intake snorkle for my 2001. At that point I got another Ultimap chip specifically for the Staintune and the InDuct.

Works great, inexpensive way to improve performance.
