Socal Nunley Memorial Ride-2-18-06
Last year on feb 15-17 shannon and steve carlton stayed at my place in Socal and we had some great rides in spite of iffy weather and rock slides. as everyone here knows, it wasn't very long before going for a ride with shannon wasn't possible anymore. this year on saturday, Feb 18th, Im gonna retrace our saturday ride including breakfast/brunch-whatever it was-at the beach in his memory. then some more riding. at this point Brad and Scott (motoyoyo) are joining me and anyone else who wants to can chime in. rapid, you couldnt make it last year, be great to see your new wheels this year. post here if you want o join, we will likely do it the same meet up, route and meal as last year if you were there.

I'll be there too. Brad had some nice roads scouted up in Malibu for us last time. Hopefully the weather will be better this year and we can explore even more. We can probably skip the blast up hwy33 that a few of us, including Shannon, did at the end of the day though. I think Rapid Dog is expecting us to run out his way too, but wasn't that the previous day's run? At any rate, I would think a lunch stop at Neptune's Net would be in order...

Just don't be doin' too much of what brother shannon has in his hand in the above pic during the ride; that'll hopefully preclude a similar fate.

meet & beginning route
ok here is how we started last year-in the rain-we meet at the chevron station on Kanaan Dume road/exit, just south of the 101 at 8 am. quick coffee stop at the rock store, east on mulholland to malibu canyon, south on malibu canyon to piuma, up piuma to schuren road, up over to stunt/saddlepeak, break for the view at the top o the world there, over saddlepeak to south on tuna canyon, the one way stretch down to pch. breakfast at paradise cove, same as last year, then-im open to anywhere else.

Sounds great, central coast, S-pool. I'm only going if ExarKunOne's GPS goes with. Really could of used it in San Jauquine fog last weekend.
Is this strictly an "S" trip? After the post with how many is too many on a ride- Will Stage 1 Scott will predetermine water in and water out spots? I suggest two photo stops, unless we have video..

someone will lead.....
last year, as it started in the rain, everyone was content to follow the slowest guy around-me. after it dried up, motoyoyo, brad, and maybe john lyon rode point as they all knew the roads as well so I expect we will have a leader of some ill repute available.

i never rode point, i was always in the back...
...cept for that one time when my bike stalled at the top of the hill and i had to coast all the way down to the bottom. i can probably shoot video. i think i have enough money saved up to buy a blank tape.
