Customer just dropped this off for some repairs.. He has painted it olive drab with a brush...
Sorry about the image quality all I had with me today was my phone camera.

It's one thing to be butt ugly from neglect or lack of use and quite a different matter if it got that way due to high mileage.

What is the odometer reading on it.

cheers

an icon in the artists oeuvre is the palette, his pointedly pedestrian symbol for the motorcycle's enterprise.

The bike underlines the sillier side of an owner perhaps better known as a sturm-und-drang Neo-Expressionist. The bike, provides a "very German, very slim, very sexy, very cool" alternative to opera's archetypal "fat lady." With the same cool sense of humor.

The bike also combines darker themes with lush visual presentations. . Rich, drab greens and tarnished chrome are trampled by the broad, gestural strokes of the brush in another possible metaphor for man violated by aggression.

The ZX10 went down a few months ago (lowsided on an onramp at about 45mph on cold pilot powers) the guy is fixing it out of his pocket... just got around to having me replace the Ram air duct which was cracked, and is what serves as the main support for the fairing.

Yes, and no.
Definitely a /5 bike. The cases and frames and tank are not even all that similar. I know a guy that takes old beemers that are not economically restorable, from a cosmetic standpoint, and does things like that to them on purpose. I always hate to see it, but I guess it beats the junkyard and one more carcass being parted out.

my point was more toward cold sport tires... any brand

some people really don't ride hard enough to ever bring them up to temp.... especially on a cold december day.

*preventive maintenance to help avoid another pointless tire thread*

the first thing I noticed was that faux license on the front with the infamous twin lightening bolts. poor taste and completely un-authentic. But here in America, at least you can do that; in der vaterlandt, that'd get you 'auf arrerts' (is that the correct spelling?) in about .005 second.
My maternal grandfather got an iron cross at El Alemien the hard way so I can legitimately criticize one of the most hated, onerous, despicable symbols in world history. Imperial Germany and the Pour leMerite/Blue Max is one thing, waffen SS is another entirely.

I didn't post it to create controversy, The guy who owns it was just trying to make it look like an old german war bike. I thought it was unique and figured I would share a picture of it with you guys. Although I am of German descent, my ancestors came over long before that time period, I have little interest in history, as I try to live for the future. Jony I am sorry if you find it Offensive.. not my intent.

Hey Bill;
No controversy, just an observation. I'd mention, perhaps, in a friendly fashion, to the owner, that the twin lightening bolts of the Schutzstaffel is pretty offensive to some folks. Heck, don't ride that thing anywhere in NYC. remember 'marathon man'?
