Black Hole Exhaust

Howdy All-
Curious is anyone has experience/ info on the aftermarket intake and exhaust system made by Black Hole Exhaust-
http://www.rbracing-rsr.com/blackhole/bmwr1100exhausts.html

Their main claim is that the stock air box and air intake don't let as much air in as possible-

I've seen a few products that replace the stock inducts with larger, smoother inducts, but this kit from RSR seems to do away with the airbox all together and uses two large K&N's nested in it's place- combined with a new exhaust system and some sort of fuel rail upgrade-

supposedly gives a 16% increase???
"more than any aftermarket chip"

Any info would be appreciated-

zactly...it has been "in the works" for years now. and NOTHING that just bolts to the exhaust side of the engine is going to boost output by 16%. thats part of the "black hole" premise...

edit: now if you add the 1150 kit, port the heads, water-cool it and add a zoopercharger, then maybe 16% is possible...maybe more :P

their intake tracking looks interesting- but they won't sell it to ya. only their complete system is possible; IF it is possible. la la la, back to dreamyland.

The blackhole stuff is marketing, not physics.
You dont' get 16hp from intake and exhaust alone.
Especially on a bike without great flowing heads.

They did change the design of the canister so it doesn't look like a Honda Civic Fat Pipe ... but from everyone talking, they don't make product very qucikly -- always concentrating on his turbo side of the business and screwing the people who drop money on their exhausts.

I want one of their rigs but may end up in the Laser buy anyway.

I could care less what it looks like, long as it's well made and clean.
I always kinda wondered why other aftermarkets kept the fake dual exhaust, other than for looks, and weight gain.
Removing one of the cans kills a lotta pounds!

The intake concept is VERY intreguing!!! What a load of intake rubish BMW designed for the R11S !!!

Very sad they don't stand behind their product, or deliver in a timely manner. Theirs was the best system for top gains I've seen yet. While the text they have on the website is self-centered and narcisistic and ego-centric, if you look past that, the technical bits DO make sense.

The BHE has been hashed out endlessly across multiple threads on this board, one of which shows an actual BHE on and off a member's bike. I do remember that the pictures showed the exhast and headers all rusted and pitted and the comments were to the effect that the thing was very poorly constructed. Call Robert Foster & get yourself a nice Laser system (or something else) but pass on this one. You've been warned!

Not if you've both tuned motors _and_ can do math.

That is one ugly a$$ exhaust. I would have to get like 50hp to something as ugly as that on my bike. The bike looks like it is taking a dump and it hasn't broke off yet.

They don't claim to gain 16hp with just a pipe. They claim to gain 16hp with the exhaust, intake and fuel pressure regulator.

Other than that it is so butt ugly, I wouldn't want to be caught dead with it even if it made 20hp more.
