Last years race was in the rain as well. Fastest lap was a 2:13 by Alex Barros. Pole was in the dry with a 1:59 by Gibbers.

Its not really a technical track, the riders have called it "boring".

But still better than 99% of the tracks here in the state. At least it is safe.

I for one, am glad that they don't, judging by the condition of the michigan highways. Compared to the rest of the world, the pavement at Grattan, the local track, is horrible, but it's better than any of the roads around here!

Dunno if it will show up but here's Rossi's issue from Sunday:

I just don't understand why he couldn't ride around that?

MotoGP rider Casey Stoner was the victim of the two-wheeled version of car-jacking this weekend in China, when he was accosted by an unidentified man wearing orange overalls, topped by a sexy see-thru outfit.

Mr. Stoner was quoted as saying that he was thrown off the bike, after which the assaulter took his machine and rode off.

According to police, "Although the bike has a very distinctive looking rear luggage rack (see photo), it didn't have the required license plate on it, thus we will have a difficult time tracking the machine down."

PS: adding insult to injury, american riders (originators of the car-jacking trend) took 3 of the 4 top spots in the race on Sunday.

WOW...surprised that was not editted out. michy is NOT gong to be happy they had a tire failure on the Doc's bike. guess that does say something about what he is able and or willing to do on a moto bike.

...weird thing is, they didn't catch it and let him ride off after replacing the rear tire...only the cameraman caught it.

since they have not found a tire that will work for him, he gambled and tried Melandri's "wide footprint" front that most everyone has gone to. Michy is no longer developing last years tire that he used for the first three races. the problem with chatter still hasn't been fixed and he jack-hammered so much that he chunked the front which blew off his front fender. I dont remember EVER hearing about someone chunk a front but anyways... his hands were also so numb he couldn't feel if it was the front or back that chunked so just assumed it was the back since it is the most common. In the pits he said change the back and nobody even noticed the front except for his "life partner" Uccio and the cameraman, but it was too late. he then realized they chnaged the worng one heading out of the pits. Oh well...

next round they are going back the the '05 chassis until they can make the '06 more '05-like.

Wow, great season so far. Nothing like the normal predictability

Four races in and Rossi is down in 6th.
3 of the top 4 Shanghai finishers were american (been a long time since that last happened)
3 new guys have been on pole.
A different winner each race.
Championship leader yet to win
2nd-5th covered by about 10 points.
3 different manufacturers have won the 4 races.

Pretty cool so far.

How did you get those Scren shots? I tried taking screenshots of John Hopkins kicking his suzuki in Qatar but I got a blank box instead of the picture. Is it because I'm using windows media player instead of Realplayer?
