stop in for some wine...end up talking motogp

so a new boutique wine shop opened near our place in VA. smaller shop with primarily italian, french and then other select imported wines. the owner is italian and for the weekend, there was an italina winemaker on hand to offer tastings of a few of his wines. listening to him talk, i was just waiting for him to thank mich-ah-lin and ya-ma-ha for giving him a good-a bike and-a tyres to win the race. so i not so subtly mentioned i had just finished watching the WSBK round in italy from last week. his eyes widen as i think i caught him off guard and off he went. he immediately poured another sampling of wine and started talking. because of his profession he does a fair amount of entertaining of some of the teams and such. he is friends with one of the motogp team owners and is hoping for melandri to do well this year. he certainly had some insight on rossi. "for sure, he is good on the motorbike...but when out of the camera and public view...he is, ah, a piece of, ah, sheet...a real snob." i chuckled at that one. he was happy to hear that i ride italian bikes as well. but now all he rides, mostly are vespas and rents occasionally a ducati monster. so we got two bottles of his wines and he signed them as well. another one of his quote about all the racers "they are absolutely crazy." but then again, arent we all

Too bad Repoe couldn't have joined us in Long Lake for the finger sandwiches .. he would have felt right at home.

i love me some micro-brews too...not to mention home brews. kevinSBX does a damn fine job of brewing. the two reds we picked up were intesting in body and character...cant wait to crack open one with dinner tonight...fixin' stuffed chicken breast and perhaps some seared beef cutlet rolls for teasers.
