Ya know that bolt that runs through the frame at the front of the tankeroo? Take a look at the right side.
Took me at least 10 minutes to find this whore with both body panels off and knowing it had to be simple and hopefully easy to find.
Whewwww.
I was getting good luck mojo from Jeffro in the form of 20-30ms square waves off the beach.

I'm not intimately familar with that area of the bike. It looks like someone had a wrench/socket on the bolt. Could they have approached it somewhat blindly and damaged the wires while wrenching?

Sure, me, had it out twice, could have screwed it up with the tank also, i am sure it was me 2 weeks ago.

Self-inflected wounds are the worst.
You're fortunate it's nothing money can't fix.

No money, just some good ole Nasa certified solder and insulation skills. Who woulda tought?
Dont like that crack looking thingy on the frame though.
Need to reinspect that.

Looks more like vibration induced wear to me. More of that superior German wiring. Those zipperheads couldn't wire a Maglite flashlight and get it right. Not quite as kaa-rappy as Lucas electricals, but close.

When I first yanked off a body panel after bringing my S home and I saw the gauge of that wire and how little insulation it has, I just couldn't believe it. WTFO???
THIS is 'superior german engineering?'....sheeeaaat.

Acid, I raped my entire wiring harness to take out extra runs to nowhere and too-long runs. A simple harness like these things have doesn't bother me a bit. (After an AH64, ain't no motorcycle that's complicated).
I examined where each segment ran and moved things around a bit to try to prevent what you just experienced. I found a couple of rubs thru the outer harness cover at 3K miles....totally OEM. A careful inspection of the whole harness run schema is probably not a bad idea....

so the ABS brain is running thru a ...what...20 gauge wire?
