Cyndy and I just got home. Hot. Hot. Hot. Took the Coast route home, nice ride, cool most of the way.
Lot's of bike travelling today. We saw Shelley on her Aprilia go by while we were stopped at Ragged Point for some food.

Made it into the Monterrey bay area on Friday afternoon. Got heat soaked from Atascadero to Salinas up the 101. Bad choice of road. Stayed up near
Santa Cruz with Pascal and Reyna for the weekend and hit the track Saturday and Sunday. Got there in the early afternoon on Saturday, parked
the bikes, walked around for a short time, then bailed early because of the heat.

Sunday wasn't much better, but got there earlier and stayed past the MotoGP. Two riders were securing their machines across the way from us
as we arrived at our parking spot. They came over to look at the 2 11s's. They were riding a Harley and a BMW. Turns out it was MarkR11S from
right here on the board, flew out from the East Coast to Seattle and rode down with his brother.

Here they are, Mark on the left.

Cyndy held out till after the race then went over to the Para-Med tent to get some water and they spotted a severe dehydration problem,
took her in, gave her water and IV and shipped her off to the hospital. So, the next problem was two bikes and only one rider. Packed
a bunch of stuff on my bike and rode into Monterrey, got a room, unloaded some stuff and found out that the buses weren't running any more.
It was about 6:30pm. Grabbed a cab instead (just for the record, not a bad deal, only about $22). Picked up the other bike and by that time
Cyndy was in a cab back to the hotel room. I sent her out to the cash machine for some dinner money, but I think she had another plan.
It comes to mind that I have never asked her what she did before we met.

Anyway, whatever the plan, it worked.
Then this guy showed up and everything for Cyndy was worth the weekend hassles.

It's true, there is nothing like the sound of those motogp bikes, but Acid, you've got the right idea: Big Screen, Air conditioning and cold refreshments.

Here's the same link to the rest of the pics:

The F800 in stunter fashion. Pretty cool looking. Check out that rear sprocket. I wonder if that's in the BMW catalog.

Steve you coulda, shoulda been there! He is a wonderfully nice polite young man who expressed that great Kentucky humble behavior and, get this, he even bowed his head and politely called me "Ma'ham" -- what a kid! Anyway, this is the second year we have been present with the Sunday crowd, so don't want to let it out, but next year -- let's hook up!

Remember when Rossi first joined MotoGP, I think he fell as often as Stoner. I remember Barry Scheen's comments, good racers find their limits.

Tony, thanks for posting the pic of my brother and I. It was nice to meet some Pelican members at the race. This was my first MC trip to California and I WILL be back. We rode from Seattle down to Monterrey and back almost exclusively on 1 and 101. Wow what a trip. You guys on the left coast have some awful fine roads to be proud of. Especially Northern California and Southern Oregon. Anyway, thanks for everyone who gave us route suggestions they paid off tremendously. I just wish I wasn't on a rented HD and had my S instead. Heres a shot of Tony and Cindy.

Sorry to hear Cindy fell victim to the heat. I was wondering why only her bike was still in the field when we left. Hope she has fully recovered!

Here's a pic of Tony and Cindy.....

I thought bikes were not allowed on the road? Or were you in a car? I passed up riding it due to my belief no bikes...

Mark, I waited around in the bike parking area for a little while thinking I might talk one of you into riding one of the S's back to Monterrey and then giving a ride back to the track. But I was worried about being locked out and having to leave the bike there overnight. It worked out.

And she has recovered.

thanks,

Tony,

Sorry we couldn't help you out. Glad to hear it all worked out. Once again you guys have some mighty fine roads out there! In total we did a little over 2300 miles for the trip. Can't wait to come back again.

Mark

p.s. The first part of Route 1 from Leggett (I think) out to the coast is unreal. Wish I had my S! Here is what we were rewarded with at the end of that twisty section of road...
