New MOTORCYCLE RACER
Picked up the latest issue of MOTORCYCLE RACER last night. For everyone who is interested they have a nice write up about track riding an ex-Boxercup R1100S in there.
It was the bike ridden by the deceised Gus Scott and they liked riding the bike a lot and had fun with it.German muscle the european trackday alternative, thinking outside the boxer...3 pages doing the boxer beat.Nothing we don't already know but still an interesting read... Chris |

Mr. Canning,
would you like some company for the next Northwest 200? I could get Lloyd to let me be his sidekick. cya Jeff

Its got to be ready for LeMans.Full stop! I missed it last year, but man did i try every avenue to score a bike to go on the friday before the race. I can only do Lemans or the NW 200,and as LeMans is a 24 hr madhole where being half cut is obligatory, its the place for me. ![]() Be cool if you can make it. What do you reckon so far regards my bike? gus |

Chris,
remember WE,(and most of the sane world), drive on the RIGHT side of the road,(which we can assume is correct), whereas most pomi countries drive on the wrong side of the road. But hey it doesn't bother me because Lloyd said you use the whole road when you ride. Spot on mate ![]() ![]() ![]() Gus, the word I and most of my friends,(yes chris I do have friends ![]() I only wonder if the limiting factor maybe the engine design because the head design and heat problems with increasing the compression. cya jeff

Hi Jeff
Ever wondered what it's like to ride a bike on the road with no rules!!!getting of the ferry and rideing to Le-Mans early in the morning might suite you then!! Have a look at the dates when they come out next year,Le-Mans for an American will be a culture shock, come to think of it,it is for us and we go every year, weather can be all over the place, but def one for your bikeing CV,haveing said that so is the NW200,but as it's a one day event maybe less fun for you money. Anygood on a boat??,Le-Mans is an 8 hour ferry journey from England to France!!, the NW is 1 and a 1/2 hours on a high speed catamaran!!,from the Wales across the Irish sea to Dublin!!. Chris |

Chris,
so you're saying Lemans could be more interesting than the NW200? Is must be a big difference between how the French do things and the Irish. jeff

One of the differences is that you can find yourself on a ferris wheel at 2 AM drinking "kentucky windage" watching the bikes lit up like christmas trees going around the track. Then theres the campsite,a sight not a million miles away from resembling the somme! Viva La France! I,m not going to chase silly horsepower out of the engine, too unreliable as well as expensive. For now PC3,new airbox/filter/ram air and the exhaust.Later a big bore kit, larger valves and lighter valve gear.I would be most happy with 110 bhp at the rear and a nice increase in torque across the rev range. The bike is also a lot lighter now which should make a difference.Still room for improvement though, lighter wheels being one! ![]() all the best gus Last edited by GUS; 08-13-2006 at 02:25 AM.. |

Gus,
sounds good to me. Brad Z. once told me 'if you want to go faster go deeper into the corner before you shut off.' I cann't wait to see what you've done. cya jeff

![]() Jeffro, Both events are very good and if you vote for the NW200 and a week in Ireland on the piss, the following weekend has British Superbike racing at Mondello Park, Dublin. I doubt if much bike riding would be done however since the Irish seem to spend most of their non working day in the bar - so driving on either side of the road is an option ![]() Lloyd |

Lloyd,
I've never been to Ireland so it seems interesting to me, but so does watching Gus piss off a farris wheel. ![]() Right now I'm up for anything. jeff
