Oil Sight Glass Removal
Well it's seeping and just in time for an oil change so I have to change it out. I checked the archives but need a presice procudure. Is it as simple as a wood screw and yank it out and pop the new one in.What should I be careful of? Thanks, John

The screw method is what I've been told to do. Be careful about not getting any glass bits inside the hole, wear clean underwear and always use a condom.

I pulled mine out with a set of tool grade dental picks, cleaned the area well, and drove the new one in with a socket that was the same size as outer rim, forget what size.

When you drove it in did you use a rubber mallet or hammer, I've read where the rubber didn't drive it in far enough, would bounce instead of driving it in?

Either will work. May have to whack a tick harder with a rubber

And a good reason to go out and buy a dead blow hammer. Perfect for these kinds of things.

Did it! Heated a screw to melt into the plastic. Broke the plastic and ended up prying it out with a screw driver. Hammered that sucker in and changed my oil. Not too bad. Changed out the clutch fluid while I was at it too. Thanks for the tips everyone.
