INTERMOT 2006 - K1200R Sport

...Cosmic Blue, or White Aluminium Matt Metallic...
...with or without HP-parts...
...it's your choise...

...this is what BMW tells us : the new K 1200 R Sports offers excellent protection against the elements, making it ideal for high-speed cruising over long distances. But 163 HP, and a maximum torque of 127 Nm mean you can always burst out of the comfort zone when you need to...

...I would say : ....if you like to...

...available with :

- ESA
- the redesigned Integral ABS (partially intergral)
- the sportwheels
- the exp a n d a b l e sportbags
- a sport softbag
- a tank bag
- BMW Motorrad Navigator
- anti-theft alarm
- low seat (790 mm)
- luggage grid
- heated grips
- tire pressure control
- centre stand
- tinted windscreen

...and with the new HP-parts :

- HP top yoke
- HP carbon front fender
- HP carbon seat cover
- HP carbon engine spoiler
- HP carbon clutch cover
- HP foot pegs (adjustable !)
- HP forged wheels (I've seen them ; and they look GOOD !!)
- Laser exhaust

- and very new (available from Feb. 2007) LED indicators. And these LED indicators will also find their way to my R12S !!

...don't know if it is true ; but the word is the carbon parts are made by Ilmberger...

...only one thing ; why not mirrors mounted on the fairing ???
...they still use these crappy, vibrating handlebar mirrors...

...long bike...; isn't it ??

...and somehow the bike looks a bit like the new Bandit 1250...

I like it. I like handlebar mounted mirrors, although if it were me, I'd ditch the stock ones for a single barend mirror.

Uhm...K series still looks too long to me. I don't like it, it reminds me the Eurostar....

RoLoo,nice bike with an even nicer option$$$s list...
Just wished it also was available with an 1200 boxer engine as the R1200S/R...
Maybe at the IMOT 2008 when the warranty runs out on my R1100S...

In my book, from a looks standpoint, long is good. The current crop of ultra-short wheelbase sportbikes make us all look like monkeys riding a football. Today's Japanese front line sportbikes are optimized for Pedrosa-like bodies that 5% of us have.

Start getting them on the floors now -- the sooner the used ones hit the market, the sooner I can afford one! K-power: darkside awaits.

I like the concept... however I must say the standard K1200R with the otional large windscreen cuts wind very well and, to my eye, has the edge on looks appeal. The girls I have asked all prefer the K1200R - perhaps that is something to think about? HA HA HA!
