Thumbs up Running Lights

I have been wanting running lights for some time now and I have read a ton of posting on the subject. I finally decided on using a Kisan signalMinder. I took a series of photos with the running lights off, low, and high intensity from the front and back. I also threw in a set with the PIAA's. Anyone interested may want to have a look:

No lights or brackets involved. You replace the turn signal relay, which is located in the right-hand (as you sit on the bike) relay box. To access the relay box, you need to remove the right side fairing. They cost about $100. I got mine from customdynamics.com

correction. That should be the LEFT side relay box and LEFT side fairing.

How do the turn signals work while the running lights are on? Do they turn "off" first and then blink at full intensity?

Does anyone know if the signal minder lets you use LED bulbs in the turn signals without getting fast blinking? I think the instant on/off of LEDs makes turn signals much more noticeable.

I'm very interested in lighting but haven't done anything yet.

It seems like the best combo would be HID high/low beam, Brake! LED taillight, and a signalminder with running lights. Any other ideas with a better bang for the buck?

When you hit the turn signal, the bulb turns off, then turns on at full brightness and repeats. Once the flashing sequence is complete, it returns to a steady 'on' at the programmed brightness. Tegarding LED's,
if you visit Kisan's SM-5 page (the specific model for 'S') at http://www.kisantech.com/view_product.php?product=SM-5, then go to the bottom of the page, you can get a copy of the installation booklet. Page 25 talks about LED lights. They claim " in most cases, you do not need a load equalizer".
I use Kisan's 'tailBlazer' brake light modulator. It flashes rapidly, then slows and finally turn on solid after ~4 seconds. I plan to add a LED brake/tail light and LED turn signals in the next few months.

Thanks for the info - I didn't see that install link before. I think it'd be great to have LED array bulbs out back and luxeon bulbs up front.

Does anyone know how the auto-off turn signals work by default? I haven't seen them ever turn off when i'm at a stop, they only seem to turn off when I'm moving. I'll still have to wire up the brake light wire?

Has anyone connected a signalminder to some LED bulbs? How does the dim running light pulse width modulated mode work?

Stock signals turn off by distance and time. Mine requires a distance of 10th mile before it will shut off.

I think the stock is time only. Mine shuts off after ~45 seconds sitting at a light. Zero distance involved.

My stock 02 prep stays on for over 2 minutes when not moving.... when moving it shuts off in 1/10 mile or 20 seconds...

However... The runninglites feature you have is quite illuminating! How long did it take to install the kit?
