SEMA Show

Anyone going to SEMA? Any chance of scoring 2 extra tickets for me and my boss? Don't mind paying, just don't have the crudentials to get my own.
Either way, if in area for the show let me know!

Make fake business cards. They don't ask or have a list of companies. If you show some sort of proof you are in 'the industry' you get in. Make up your own exhaust company, make a business card in photoshop. Viola.

No tickets here, but if you manage to go I wonder if you'd take a picture or two of any new Jeeps you see there? Rumor is that Jeep is making a new Scrambler....and I've always kind of liked those.

Good luck.
Hope you make the show...

I think the Scrambler crowd was supposed to be appeased by the Wrangler Unlimited. Unless they are just throwing on a half-cab top for the new year. Perhaps. I did see at Camp Jeep this year a desert utility extended TJ with a half-cab that looked really cool. Pretty much a new CJ-8, but more dimensioned like a CJ-6 Some guy gray-marketed one into the states and was using it. Great bike hauler, IMO. I was jealous. The only drawbacks were the VERY utilitarian comforts to the level of CJ-2A standards. I wouldn't have a problem with it in that respect.

I'll be there, as always... H&R Booth some and out taking lots of photos. Sideshow is right, the show is pretty much open to the public if you have fake business cards. Or actually just about any business card will probably do. I think it was $10 or $20 per person last time I helped to get some friends in to the show (they had H&R badges courtesy of moi, but they had to pay to get holders or some crap). Whatever, anyways just act like you know what you're doing and you should be there, get in line, and let it roll. Though just hanging out in the parking lots gives you nearly the experience and that's free.

johnny, its that first part that worries me. I can fake business cards, pay stubs, health cards all that. I just have NO idea what the Business Liscense/EIN# or Tax/Business Registration documents should look like.
I dont want to get called out on it and have issues of any sort...

I like the Unlimited, but not the newest version with the four doors.
I'm not thrilled about the new Jeeps just yet...
Here's the latest I've seen on the Scrambler idea Sideshow:

http://www.autoblog.com/2006/10/26/scrambler-could-bring-a-bed-back-to-jeep-and-you-can-retrofit/

Sorry for the hijack VetteRacer.

No worries, I like Jeeps as well...
I was saddened when I saw the new 4 door, IMO it finished the ruining process that Chrysler has been doing to the Jeep name since 1986...
If I make it I will shoot some pics for you sideshow!

Nice! Sorry I missed you. I don't work in the booth all that much. I'm the graphic designer/photog for H&R so I'm out and about a lot running errands, shooting pics, etc. etc. Hope you enjoyed the show. How could you not?! Car craziness as usual. My highlight was getting to ride in the Turner Motorsports full race BMW M3 that just won Grand Am Cup GS (down Paradise at about 7,000 rpm!!! YES.), and also getting to go for a spin in the EvoSport 2006 BMW M5 with race exhaust (F1 sound sent from god!). Oh yeah, and getting to drive a new Mercedes-Benz CLS500 with a sweet bodykit/exhaust. Of course there was the Michelin booth that was off the hook with all the supercar goods. Cheers.

Was that the M3 at the H&R Booth? Very nice little car!

I was overwhelmed. Next year I hope to get a few more days to go and soak it in. Found out a lady we work with, her dad does something for SEMA and could have gotten us passes, found out yesterday afternoon.. Go figure...

Local member of the M5 board gave me his pass for the day, had to sneak my boss past security at the doors, which was VERY easy...
My boss ended up finding the rims he wants for his S4, VOLK something or others. Pretty nice...

Johnny, did you make it to the Dymag/Rennworx booth? MT900 with Carbon/mag dymag rims... That was close to heaven for me!

Continuing the superjack:

That RT with city bags is just sooo wrong. My opinion, yes, but city bags, custom paint, race rubber = rear spoiler on pickup stupid.

As for that Jeep, Vette, as the decals on it also suggest, is the Brute made by American Expedition Vehicles. Type it into google and check out the price of that puppy. My lust for Jeeps has waned, but still exists some. The Brute is everything good that the Unimited is not and what the teal 'Scrambler' Wrangler should be. AEV had some shots of articulation on the thing that made parts of my body swell. Their pricing calculator isn't up, but it's basically you buy a TJ, send it to them with another $20-35K (Hemi option makes for some priciness) and they send you back your Brute. Options added up quick with it, just like a BMW bike.

Check: http://www.aev-conversions.com/Vehicle_Brute.html

For hot and sexy pictures like this:

Oh yeah, the Brute came about in about 2001, I think and I've lusted for it since first glimpse. AEV makes some other crazy stuff, so check out their other jobs. The XJ stuff in interesting.

Thanks for the pictures VetteRacer. I like the Brute a lot....its probably not so practical here in Boston, but that doesn't mean much.
A strong want is a justifiable need.

My bad. I should have realized...
I did see another that looked like it, but didn't snap a picture.

Its a pickup that I wouldn't mind having, but of course, price is a little steep for my tastes...

Are those Ferrari wheels on the red picture? :P
