...I was in France the day before yesterday ; we came from Schlechtenau in Germany (Schwarzwald), a bit right on the map next to Freiburg. From Offenburg we went to Strassbourg, Saverne, Bouxwiller, Ingwiller, and over this magnificent 919 up to Sarreguemines, to Saarbrücken (Germany)...

...if I find the time (...) I will post a few pictures...

The retirement bit is easy, you just need a bit of forward planning. Join the Royal Air Force as an engineer at the age of 17. Stay till you are over 40 and then they give you a pension which is enough to live on in France.
If I had stayed in the UK I would still need to work due to the higher cost of living.
Glad you like the pictures in the blog, I intend to try and update it at least twice a week.
