Octane Requirments R1200S

Not much we here in western USA can do about it..BUT our top octane rating at the pump is 91...specs of the 12.5:1 R12S is for 98 octane...anyone out there with a R1200S using 91 octane? If so any problems with mixture and fuel/air ratios? Power?

Thanks...

The 98 you're seeing is RON. The bike will run on at least premium here. Don't worry; be owner!

I think that 98 octane rating is for euro spec fuel which translates roughly to 93 octane stateside.

there are a couple 76 stations selling high octane gas in l.a. one's near the corner of pico and the 405. they cater to the ferrari owners in beverly hills.

every once in a while i'd want to track down an engine noise. so i'd fill up there just to eliminate the chance of it being bad gas.

I'de think if the octane requirements for an R1200S exceed what's commonly an dlegally available in the continental US, we'd have heard abouot it by now.
Of course, you CAN boost your octane with some of this:
