Don't read MOTO GP thread if you don't want to know who won!!!
Some peope have no consideration for others and posted the results of the MOTO GP race without warning. I'm pretty mad that I looked foreward to seeing the race to find out who won, and now I know. Thanks guys....next time WARN US!

Thanks for the thread, videoguy.....hopefully you can save someone else from having the race spoiled.
GRRRRRRRRRRRR......... |
too late!!
|
While putting a "Spoiler" in the subject is a good idea, why in the heck would someone who doesn't want to know the results open up a new thread titled "MotoGP" hours before the race is televised? The person who spoiled your race is looking back at you in the mirror.

NOT! .... there were other threads about the GP which didn't post the results, the thread could have been about anything to do with it
|
I stayed away from this forum until after I saw the race for fear that someone would put the results in a thread title. Been down that road before...
|
I can see both sides to this issue. I for one don't care if I hear who won or not...I'll still watch cos I wanna see the race. But there are those who get catatonic about reading results first. On some other forums I read guys will get really abusive to someone who posts results. I think that if you really want to be surprised...and see the race with each turn a mystery, then don't read anything about it the day of the race, cos someones gonna slip...and then you'll know. If you think about it, nothing really interesting or original will be posted anyway....just a bunch of opinions and you know what the deal is with them, don't you? So just stay away from motorcycle forums and sit around the house biting your nails....you'll still get ulcers but at least you won't pi$$ anyone else off. :D

before the race. And if I missed the Sunday race and catch it on Tuesday, I avoid my emails and the internet for 2 days....it almost kills me but it is worth it cause the unknown outcome of the race has me enjoy the race like it was live! |
I thought the MOTOGP thread was like the threads on bmwforums.net.....come over to my house and watch....who's watching @ 3:30, ect. I had no clue that when I clicked on that thread that it would ruin the race for me.
Who knew that the race was actually run yesterday and rebroadcast on Speed? I certainly didn't. At least I didn't know that Rossi crashed out early during the race. I did know the winner though, and that SUCKED. Oh well. At least the Kentucky boy won. It was still a dick move to post the winner without <SPOILER> in the thread title though. Thanks douche bag!   |

Putting results (even hinting) in the subject line - bad form. Putting "spoiler" in the subject line - nice. But to expect every one posting to a forum to follow this rule religously from the time the race was run until you get around to watching it - not realistic. - Mark |

The world doesn't revolve around me?
Says who? Thanks for the reality check guys. I'll remember next time that a MotoGP race is on, and I'm excited about motorcycles, that PP is the wrong place to hang out. |
Next time you'll know, Doogie. Keep in mind, with the number of guys that post here, someone's going to forget that others see it on taped delay. And some watching the taped delay think it's live. And those guys will find each other here. If you don't want anything else spoiled, get out of this thread now...
Nicky will repeat in 2007! ;) |
> Who knew that the race was actually run yesterday and rebroadcast on Speed? I certainly didn't.
Ummmm, everyone who follows racing and realizes that the rest of the world is by definition, in a different timezone. Still, a real a-hole move by the poster. |
WOW. I really didn't expect to be lectured about not opening my e-mails or looking at this forum before a race was telecast. I would have thought people here were a bit more mature and experienced not to post results the day of a big race. My bad for assuming some level of self control on the part of posters. Like others said I simply thought the thread was ABOUT the race in general...the upcoming battle, the odds of either guy winning, not the results. Next time I am forewarned not to trust anyone here on race day.

You got me head scratching on this one. Isn't the internet supposed to be like up-to-the-minute-real-time-information (or mis-information)?

It's not called spoil-net.
Anyone who has been around anytime at all, without there head in their behind, knows you label anything with race results in it. Of course, I, and many others realize that there are plenty of ignorant inconsiderate or unthinking people (not necessarily ill intentioned) still allowed keyboards, so we still have to assume the worst and excercize some caution. I wanted to click it for some more pre-race discussion, but then thought to myself "Hey, what if some moron hasn't labled this, as too often happens" Glad I had that thought. |
P.E.
...just to throw in my2cents...
I went for a ride with fellow poster PVR Sunday morning...he revealed to me that he also had opened the Pelican, now knew the results and was a bit disappointed... over breakfast he asked me what I thought the results were going to be since he knew, and i didn't... I blathered my prediction with casual yet opinionated flare ... PVR just turned his head and continued eating his lumberkck breakfast...his repressed expression painful...call it a dog's intuition, but at that moment I knew something was terribly wrong... imagine my dsappointment when I, like the rest of the world, watched Rossi do that slow low slide... DOH! |
