New R1200S Owner

Glad to find a place that talks about the R1200S. Here are some recent pictures of the bike in The Big Bend.

welcome big tex, I have a question, does the R12S have a seat cowl option, i.e., a cover for the pillion?

There's a cowl option - but it doesn't cover the pillion seat, it replaces it.

What is the model soft bag you have on your seat?

It was a cortex bag that I used on my Interceptor. Bought it about 5 yrs ago. I manufactured parts to make it fit on the rear seat. It did the job and did not cost anything.

Congrats Bearkat. This is the place for the R12S. Going to Big Bend with friends this winter is on the short list. What's your quick take of the place?

When you get a chance, bring the S up north a couple of hundred miles and thrash it like a red headed stepchild on those famous Dallas/Ft.Worth twisties.

I paid a LOT less than that through Chicago BMW.

Nice bike by the way!

I have been to Big Bend three times, and I love it every time I go. There is nothing better than doing a few hundred miles with music blaring in my helmet, and seeing the sights of the desert landscape.

The worst ride in Texas is the DFW area. I lived in Euless for 5 yrs. I would ride to 75 and Mockingbird. Did it on a Honda Shadow VLX. I would use every bit of the 600 CC engine. What a miserable ride. Some days it was just easier to jump in the car.
