Great Racing Weekend....... Awesome support from crew, Morton's BMW, BMW Owners Club of the DC area, BMW Atlanta, and approximately 80 owners/fans..... Nate's results from the weekend 3rd Place Middleweight GP SuperTwins 2nd Place Middleweight Super Sport ASRA Thunderbike 1st Place CCS Thunderbike ASRA Thunderbike was one of, and arguably THE MOST competitive race event of the weekend. Having set the class track record at one point during the race he raised the bar for the event. It was an action packed race and even though Nate "smashed" the cylinder head into the curbing he had an amazing finish to his already impressive weekend. Thanks again to the support of everyone on Pelican Parts and those mentioned above!! Will post some pictures soon.

laughing at the podium pic, for sure I was less than imressed with my mistakes made during the race, but the fight back to catch the leaders was alot of fun and gratifying! I knew, upwards of 80 BMW riders were in turn 7 and with the amount of curbing in that area it would be a sparks show! The ASRA qualifying was fun, I just put my head down and went out first as to not allow anyone to get a draft. Clean and clear track for me. 12 minute qualifying, 5 really good laps (1:18.4 to 1:18.7) and I called it a day for that. Well that last lap Dave got a great draft from what I heard and kinda caught a glimpse of and he did a 1:18.1 for the pole. The race was hands down one of the most exciting races I have been in. Crushed the launch and pulled about 10 bike lengths for the opening 2 laps and then SMASH! Apexed a hair to early as I was reallygetting my eyes and head looking way up T9. Depending on how loud it is is how bad its gonna be.... it was a shot! lol Skated about 3 feet, both ends, and kept going. I lost alot and they were on me and were close onough in the draft as the 2 slpit around me on the brakes they were both way over their heads going into T1 I was going to brake a little harder to go up the inside as the went wide. They did run wide, I did go up the inside where no one likes to run there due to bumps and dirt, spun the rear enough to hurt the drive a little and now all 3 of us were bar to bar for T3. Not budging a bit. Thankfully they did or 4th palce at the time would have won as we would all be sitting on the tire wall or brawling! lol back and forth though the fast sweepers our wheelbase was just great, but the tight stuff hurt from T5 to T7. Last lap, white flag at the top of my visor, alltucked in in 5th gear. The qucik glance up at the white flag was enough to almost make me go down as I looked forward throughthe windshield, I was drafting Bilansky and he missed a shift BIG TIME!!! We scrapped knee pucks as I countered with every ounce of strength I had. That draft was slinging me towards the leader and what I lost avoiding him I could only make up half the distance, 20 bike lengths at the line. Settled for 2nd. the two 600 races i did were alot of fun. Checked out on the field and battled for a few laps with the two 600's, but againthe tight stuff wore us out and a 2nd and 3rd was the result. Supertwins, I tried making up what I lost to Steve Crevier on the brakes and did a couple times, but again the top speed of the XBRR on the straight and this out of control 999R that I made contact with twice... lol, 3rd again! Damn. The day before, on Sat. The same players in the ASRA Natl Thunderbike race where I finished 2nd, I wonthe CCS Thunderbike. So we swapped positions unfortunately when Sun. came. Damn again! lol We stepped up the pace big time this year and so did they. Great racing and tremendous support from so many dealers and clubs! Thank you all for spending the weekend with my team and I look forward to seeing youse at VIR next week! N8!

Ha ha ha, Nate you look awesome on the R1200RT-P! Did you drag a knee? I like the first picture... Nates looking at all the instruments and is wondering "Hmm, I wonder what this button does?"

I only caught his two races after lunch; the first one (against the Buells) was great action but from where I was you could see them motor out of the backfield. It looked like Nate was making ground or at least holding his own in the tight stuff, despite 4" more wheelbase or something like that, but they really pulled once they got out of there. He got a great start but that was red-flagged a few laps in, didn't get the great start second time around. Two races later in the 600 class, those two leaders were just flying. Pretty sure I heard a valve cover later on in the race... anyway, it looked like two thirds from where I was but I guess one of them was a second. Had to get to the airport so I missed the win...
