Avon Tires?

So how do you people who cashed in on the Avon tire deal feel about your cheap tires? I like mine so far, they turn in quick butt don't feel squirrely.
Butt what do I know?

Liked my last set of Avons and they were the the sport touring version. They wore well with no quirks, other than tought to balance. My BCR already had - Avon Tires- on the belly pan

just mounted my "tire deal" road/track tires tonite and will break them in tomorrow for track days Monday & Tuesday. ingmar

I haven't mounted mine yet but enjoy having a first quality set of tires for $168.

Just got mine mounted 2 days ago-rode them this morning. Big difference going into turns--like you say Spike, my squirreliness is gone. But my Metzies were going bald, too......

I couldn't agree more the turn in on these tires, scared the hell out of me the first time I leaned hard into a corner. I think they are allot more responsive then the Pilot powers I was running previously. I hope the wear is good.

Tires felt great at the track, heated up well and were consistant. Ran 30 back and 32 front on 75 degree days, they went up 6 lbs when hot. Note these are track pressures. Broke them in at 36 front 42 back for street.

My Viper Super Sport rear worked great but only lasted about 2,000 miles. Sportec M3's are giving similar good performance with 2.5 times the treadlife.

YMMV,

Hi,

I'm about to replace my second 'pair' of AV59/60's aka Viper Sports.

I've went through two rears to one front, so the font has done about 5400 miles and the rears lasted about 2700 miles each.

I have not got a bad thing to say about these (well it would be nice if they lasted 6000 miles intead). I did about 250 track miles on the first rear tyre at a two day event.

No scares, just did the job well.

I'm now sticking a set of A45/46 on for the winter, which is the tyre I use on my R11S anyway. Better wear rate and good for the road in wet or dry conditions.

On the track the 45/46 started to loose it a bit towards the end of sessions, but it was also nice easy controlable slides, which got my attention but didn't mean I had to retire. Just back off a little.

Over here, if you get a puncture in the first 1mm of tread, they replace the tyre for free.

I've had about three on 'warranty' over the years.

Regards,

Adrian
